Beware Of The Wisdom Of This World

T here is a way that the world operates, a way the world has designed things to be
and this is what Paul called the wisdom of this world. It is the modus operandi
of the world. By the world I mean the system of the world which is headed by Satan.
The Bible says concerning this kind of wisdom, that This wisdom descendeth not from
above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish (James 3:15). The wisdom of this world is foolishness
in the sight of God.
The danger is that the wisdom of this world often presents to you nice-sounding,
common sense, savvy principles which appear very appealing to the senses. They sound
like good advice, but as far as God is concerned, they are foolishness. For example, the
wisdom of this world says, If you want to have a lot, then keep what you have and save
it till you get rich but the wisdom of God says It is better to give than to receive (Acts
20:35). The wisdom of this world says The flu is in town so be careful when you are
around sick people, so you dont get infected but the wisdom of God says, They shall
lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:18).
As a child of God, you have to be careful not to get carried away with the wisdom of
this world. The Bible tells you to guard your heart (Proverbs 4:23). Dont allow just any
information to get into your mind; study Gods Word so you will be full of the wisdom
of God.

This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife
is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then
peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and
without hypocrisy (James 3:15-17).
