Coursedescription:Thisisaonesemestercoursethatcoversthemajorconceptsin
biochemistry,includingthetypesofbiomolecules,proteinandenzymestructure,membranes,
andmetabolism.Thecoursemaybeofinteresttostudentswhoareonapathtowardahealth
relatedfield,oranyoneinterestedinhowlivingthingsworkatthemolecularlevel.

Textbook:"EssentialBiochemistry"byCharlottePratt&KathleenCornely.Officially,itsthe
3rdedition.ButIthinkyoushouldbeabletomanagejustfinewiththe2ndedition,whichmay
belessexpensive.The2ndand3rdeditionsareverysimilar.

Computeraccess:Therewillbeaclasswebpage,andsomeclassnoteswillusuallybeposted
onthewebpageaftereachclass.Itwillthereforebenecessarytohaveaccesstoacomputer
andinternet.

Classattendancewillnoteffectgrades.However,Ithinkitwillbeextremelydifficulttodo
wellinthecoursewithoutattendingclassregularly.

Examswillbegivenduringtheregularclasstime.Plantotaketheexamsonthescheduled
