Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
During math time, the class will learn how to do the decomposing and composing of math problems. After
being introduced through an instructional lesson, the students will work individually on these problems and
then come together as a group to discuss them as a whole. After that, the SRT activity will take place and
the students will each get an iPad to use for the assessment.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
Assess prior knowledge Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) To illuminate common
misconceptions Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) Summative assessment of content knowledge Test preparation
Survey/Poll Discussion starter Homework collection Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

Each student will have an iPad and the questions will be answered through the iPad. I will control the
questions so each student is given the same amount of time. If students need more time, more time will be
given because this is also a learning exercise. After each question we will talk about the question, and the
students can raise their hand to give me the rht answer.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
Multiple choice Multiple select True/False Yes/No
Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank Longer open-ended response

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

Yes No
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)

Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not? Yes because I believe it is important that the students see which answers are correct and
try to understand why it is the right answer. This will be a learning activity as well as an assessment.

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?

If the students succeed during this assessment, we will continue further with the lesson and move forward
with standards. If the students do not succeed, we will review the questions missed and redo the lesson if
needed.

How will the data be used?

Data will be collected from this activity for the questions asked and will show me which students answered
correctly and incorrectly as well as the questions the students struggled most with. The activity will not be
counted for an accuracy grade, but will be counted for a completion grade. I will use the data from this
assessment to monitor progress for the classroom as a whole as well as the individual students. I will use
the data to help the class as a whole if the majority of the class struggled with this lesson. However, if only
a few students struggled with this assignment, I will come up with a personal individualized plan for those
students.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. My personal learning goal for this assignment is to see
how well the students respond to Socrative. I would like to know if the students like the technology
addition of the classroom and if it affects their test taking skills at all. I hope that the students respond well
to this assessment and Socrative and enjoy using technology.
