FOREIGN

POLICY
OF THE
KINGDOM
OF JUPITER

ADOPTED BY THE NPC
JULY 21, 2017
Introduction

The Kingdom has always been open for relations and thinks that diplomacy is the only
way to keep peace worldwide. That being said the Kingdom still maintains the right to
chose who it opens relations with. To help with this we split our relations with other
nations into three categories: full bilateral relations, informal relations, and limited
recognition.

The other sections in this document contain information on the different procedures and
opinions of the Kingdom.

Full bilateral relations

The Kingdom will only open full relations with micronations that meet the following:
1. The permanent land claims of that micronation must not be all within Bir Tawil,
Antarctica, or undeveloped islands without having a permanent resident living
there. Nations that consist of just
2. Must have a stable and professional government.
3. The micronation must have existed for one month.
4. The population must not have had a huge decrease within the past month.
5. The government shall not participate or support terrorism.

All of this is subject to exemptions at the King's request.

Informal Relations
If any nation is denied full relations, or for any other reason, that country may enter
informal relations. No official treaty is signed but mutual recognition is had.

Limited Recognition
Due to common sense the Kingdom recognizes certain countries as the controllers and
administrators of their land. This does not mean that any relations are occurring.

Wynbrook
If a micronation recognises the Kingdom it shall recognise Wynbrook as both a separate
entity and a part of the Kingdom. All diplomatic communication shall go through this
office or the Saxon (person from Wynbrook) Senator.
Full Bilateral Relations

Criteria
For a nation to establish Full Bilateral Relations they must meet the following criteria:
1. Must have a stable and professional government.
2. The population must not have had a huge decrease within the past month.
3. The government shall not participate or support terrorism.
4. The micronation must have a government that has existed for over one month in
that current form.
5. The permanent land claims of that micronation must not be all within Bir Tawil
without having a permanent resident living there.
6. They must not have land claims overlapping the claims of the Kingdom without a
separate treaty being signed.
7. Must meet statehood as defined by the Montevideo Convention on the Rights
and Duties of States.

Non-aggression
If a nation that the Kingdom has relations with violates the non-aggression clause of a
treaty, diplomatic relations will be immediately suspended for two weeks. The Kingdom
will defend from the attack as is expected of any nation. A inquiry will be formed to find
the cause of the violation and if retaliation is needed. If so, the military (KOJAF) will take
control of the situation. If not then diplomatic relations may be resumed or permanently
suspended.

Commonwealth Territories

Any nation-state that has full bilateral relations with the Kingdom also recognises the the
Commonwealth Territories as self-autonomous territories of the Kingdom. All
communication with any Commonwealth Territory must go through the External Affairs
Office, who will then give the message to the Office of the Commonwealth.
Informal Relations

If any nation does not meet the criteria for Full Bilateral Relations they may apply for
Informal Relations. Informal Relations consist of basic recognition and the possibility of
multinational projects. This category of relations may be created by the head of the
External Affairs Office or the King with any country the Kingdom has close ties with.
Informal Relations do not have to be mutual (aka by both countries), the Kingdom may
open informal relations with any nation.

Limited Recognition

Due to common sense and practicality the Kingdom recognizes certain countries as the
controllers and administrators over their land. This does not mean that any relations are
occurring between the Kingdom and nations that have this status. This includes all UN
member states and other nations that have significant control over territory such as the
Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan).

For a nation to receive limited recognition status they must have significant international
relations established with UN states and have general support of the Jovian Population.
The final decision on the granting of this status belongs to the National Policy Council.

Economic

Trade Deals
A country wanting a trade deal with the Kingdom must be located within 50 miles of a
province. The province is preferred to be Jupiter Territorial Province. A nation must be
approved by the Office of Tax and Monies also. No trade will occur if national security
concerns arise or if the trade would violate foreign policy goals.

The following are the different types of trade deals the Kingdom may make:

Free trade: Any company or person may trade with any company or person in
either nation. Allows for the free movement of capital and goods.
Product for Product: Only specified products may be traded between countries.
Tariff and Quotas: Product for Product with special taxes or written out quotas.
Currency u nion: The signing country and the Kingdom will use the same
currency.
Other types of trade deals may be signed with the approval of the Office of Tax
and Monies and the King.

Special Free-Trade with the United States

All products the were made in, legally imported into, or grown in the United States do
not need any permit to enter the Kingdom. Any medicine or food products approved by
the proper American government agencies can be imported into the Kingdom.
Exceptions to this policy include Trump brand food products and any other exception
made by the Office of Customs Enforcement.

Customs and Possession of Products Entering the Kingdom

Goods and other products entering the Kingdom must comply with the Customs Act of
2016 and similar legislation. If a good is found to be in violation of legislation, it may be
seized by the Office of Customs Enforcement. The person or persons attempting to
bring the good seized by the Office, may be detained and interrogated for a maximum
period of 1 hour. If one hour has elapsed the Office of Customs Enforcement must
make a formal arrest or let the person or persons walk free. The External Affairs Office,
King, Provincial governor, or the Office of Customs Enforcement can issue a permit to
allow goods into the Kingdom.

Diplomatic Missions

Embassies
The formal representation to a country that the Kingdom recognizes by full bilateral
relations, informal relations, or limited recognition is an embassy. Embassies are
generally in the capital of the country they are assigned to. Large towns are areas near
the capital may contain the embassy for that country.

The services provided by an embassy are citizenship, visa, issue travel warnings to the
assigned country, negotiating with the assigned government, and assigning protection
to citizens if the need arises, among other services. In addition, official business and
meetings can happen inside the borders of diplomatic missions and be considered to
happen in Jovian claimed territory if needed.

A charter is needed to create any embassy. The ambassador or consul and the King
must sign the charter to formally create a embassy.

Consulates
The formal representation of an area of a country that the Kingdom recognizes. Most
consulates will be in subdivisions (states, provinces) or major cities. The services
provided by consulates are visa, citizenship, and other standard representative
services. A charter is needed to create any embassy. The ambassador or consul and
the King must sign the charter to formally create a embassy.

Other

International Organizations
The King's approval is needed for the Kingdom to have membership in any International
Organizations. International or multinational organizations include military alliances,
diplomatic organizations, not-for-profits or any other organizations between two or more
nations.

International Treaties
The King has the only treaty making power. That includes inter-micronational and,
international treaties, multi-micronational, and regional agreements. Any agreements
changing current policies within the Kingdom must go through a Senate vote to be
ratified.

Diplomatic communication
All formal diplomatic contact must go through email or form on the official website. All
other communication can happen on any platform (ex. phone calls, text, Skype). Any
requests for diplomacy must go through Skype or Email.
Travel
To enter the Kingdom of Jupiter a person must have a Travel Visa granted by the
Department of Immigration, Tourism, and Employment or a diplomatic mission. This
Visa will apply to all Provinces except if the Governor closes that Province from travel.
The Office of Customs Enforcement will stop anyone without a visa at the border. The
area surrounding the Kingdom has many hotels and attractions. The closest airport is
Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).

Diplomats
The nation sending the diplomat must make arrangements for travel and
accommodations beforehand with the King through Email. Any unannounced Diplomats
will be turned away at the border. Foreign diplomats do not need a Travel Visa if they
have a form of identification and a copy of a confirmation of their visit from the External
Affairs Office.
