A NOVEL COMBINED EFFORT TO MAKE INDIAN RURAL VILLAGES

INTO SUSTAINABLE VILLAGES

Aim of the Project

To Make a Sustainable Village with Energy generation from Sea Water, Genetic
Engineering based Fish Firming along with help of Make in India

Material Required:

Salt Water
Electrodes
Electronic Circuit for Prototype Genetic Engineering
Model

Description

The fact that comfortable standard of living and quality of human life has become
increasingly dependent on energy along with food production and security, the
only way to cope up with such growing dependence is adoption of energy
conservation measures ,use alternative sources of energy for power generation,
production food products and selling exporting them online to get
individual/village economy up to mark. To exemplify the best practices, this
Smart Village Development initiative may be taken for every village/ district
across Odisha and all over India.
1)Energy generation from Salt Water

India and Odisha both have enough coastal areas and huge resources linked with
Sea,again Saltwater can serve as the electrolyte in a battery, thus generating
electricity from sea water would be a great advantage for us.

How It Works:

In water, table salt, or sodium chloride (NaCl), dissolves into positively charged
sodium ions (Na+) and negatively charged chlorine atoms (Cl-). A solution of ions
such as this is called an electrolyte. In a battery, one electrode -- called the cathode
-- sheds electrons into the solution, leaving it with a positive charge. At the same
time, the other electrode -- the anode -- collects electrons, giving it a negative
charge. Ions in the electrolyte help facilitate this process. The charge imbalance
between the two electrodes creates a electrical potential difference. If you connect
the terminals in a circuit, the electrons built up in the anode will flow through the
circuit back to the cathode, creating an electrical current.

2)Genetic Engineering and Pisciculture

Fish farming or pisciculture involves raising fish commercially in tanks or

enclosures such as fish ponds, usually for food/sell.It may be a good source of
income for villagers, again through make in india campaign, things like packed food
products can be exported and even can be made available for local markets thus
increasing the per capita income for villagers.

In this project We have adopted both energy generation concept along with Fish
Firming for making a sustainable Model Village.
