Chapter No:02 (Kinematics)

Rest
A body is said to be at rest if it does not change its position with respect to its surroundings.

Motion
A body is said to be at motion if it changes its position with respect to its surroundings.

1.Transltory Motion
In translator motion, a body moves along a line without rotation. The line may be straight or
curved.
There are 3 types of it:
1. Linear Motion
The straight-line motion of a body is called Linear Motion.i.e.The motion of a car on
straight road, etc.

2. Circular Motion
The circular path motion of a body is called Circular Motion.i.e,Motion of Earth around
Sun, etc.

3. Random Motion
The irregular motion of a body is called Random Motion.i.e,Motion of birds, etc.

2.Rotatory Motion
The spinning motion of a body about its axis is called Rotatory Motion.i.e,Motion of a wheel,
etc.

3Vibratory motion
The to and fro motion of a body about its mean position is called Vibratory Motion.i.e,Pandulr
of a clock
