Bless to Me : Generous Givers that Reflect Gods Blessings

The generosity of God surrounds us in our daily lives. We only

WORSHIP everywhere. We celebrate the generosity of Gods grace using

ALL SAINTS DAY IS NOVEMBER 5
Every year our congregation remembers and celebrates the lives of those
who have died in the previous year. This year several of our dear friends
have left this world for the next. We will honor their memory on All Saints
Day, Sunday, November 5. Family members are invited to light a candle in
memory of their loved ones on that day.

that the October 7th baked goods
and craft sale generated $1,369.50
which will be used to support Ashe
County local missions. We wish to
thank each of our members, friends
and neighbors for their generous
support, contributions and purchas-
es that made this years event so
successful!
Jefferson United Methodist Men ex-
press their appreciation to everyone
who supported their Brunswick
Stew Sale. The raised $1,378 for lo-
cal missions!
 POINSETTIA ORDERS
Our Worship Committee has poinsettias for sale
that will be placed in the sanctuary during the
holiday season. The plants are $7 each and can
be purchased in memory or honor of someone.
Please provide the name of the donor and the
person in whose memory or honor the flower is
given. We prefer to have given names rather
HEALTH FAIR AND FOOD DRIVE UPDATE
The Second Annual Health Fair sponsored by
Medi Home Health and Hospice was a great suc-
cess! Vendors included screening for blood
pressure, vision and hearing, representatives
from retirement homes and pharmacies, as well
as faith health and cancer education. We collect-
ed 1.5 tons of food for our Food Pantry and
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
Each year, United Methodist Women have the
opportunity to show their gratitude for Gods
blessings through the World Thank Offering.
Sometimes the Lord surprises us with an unex-
pected gift. We are uplifted by the Lords beauti-
ful promise .... In the place where there was sad-
ness, loss, and disappointment, there will again
be the voices of those who sing, as they bring
thank offerings to the house of the Lord:
Participate in the World Thank Offering by set-
ting aside coins or bills whenever you feel espe-
cially grateful for Gods gifts in your life. All the
contributions to the World Thank Offering sup-
ACTIVE ADULTS TO VISIT PARK VISTA IN NOVEMBER
The Active Adult group met at Laurel Ridge Mora-
vian Camp in Laurel Springs for lunch, conversa-
tion and beautiful views. The Active Adults invite
you to fellowship with them during lunch at Park
Vista Restaurant located at 1907 Park Vista Rd.,
West Jefferson, NC on Wednesday, November 15
at 11:30 AM. Please call JoAnn Crawley, 336-982-
3773 to make a reservation.

a great community event hosted by our church.

many hours spent making this a wonderful

CONDOLENCES
We extend our love and prayers to the family
of Shane Vannoy, brother of Brandon Vannoy.
Shane passed away on October 6th and his
services were held on October 11th.
RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE AT JUMC
The Community Red Cross Blood Drive will be
held in our Fellowship Hall on November 16th,
11 AM3:30 PM.
UNITED METHODIST MEN FUNDRAISER
The United Methodist Men are selling peanuts
for $5 to raise money for local missions. Pea-
nuts are available by contacting Paul Horan at
336-982-2682. The peanuts are also available
at Past and Present Antiques at 113 N Jeffer-
son Avenue, West Jefferson, NC 28694. Propri-
etors Pam and Glen Mores do not charge a
commission on the sale of these peanuts,
which is a very generous gesture.

CHRISTMAS PROJECT
The project is well underway
for this year and we need

REESES PIECES: PRAYERS FOR FALL
Orange - Pray that God uses us to show love to others. Pray
for those who are trying to encourage other people to hate,
and ask God to change their hearts. Pray for Christians every-
where to be an example of love to the world and not anger.
Pray that God would help you to show love to everyone in
your life whether they are kind to you or not.
Yellow - Pray that God would help us not be afraid. Pray that
no matter what scary things we may hear about or see on the
news, that we would remember we can trust God no matter
what. Pray that God would comfort people who are facing
scary things in their life right now. Pray that God would pro-
tect people who may be in dangerous situations. Pray that
God would protect soldiers and police officers who are trying
to protect others.
Brown - Pray for everyone who is in school. Pray for teachers
that they would be encouraged to teach well. Pray for stu-
dents that they would listen and respect their teachers. Pray
for students who are being bullied that God would protect
them. Pray for students who are bullies that God would
change their hearts so that they will stop.

Wednesday Night Activities

We invite the Jefferson United Methodist Congregation to come out and EAT! The best place
sometimes to build relationships and fellowship is around the dining table, and there are
plenty of opportunities to share table fellowship with others at JUMC.
Dinner will be served for $5 per person ($20 maximum per family). Peggy Philbrick will prepare
meals through November 15th. Reservations are required. You may pay for the 10 week se-
ries up front or pay weekly by signing up on bulletin insert or by calling the church office before
noon on Tuesday and paying at the drink stand on Wednesday night.
