Making your own Incense

Incense, representing the element of air in most rituals, is quite easy to make. In making incense
you will need to measure some liquids by the dram.

Conversion Chart:

* 1/8 fluid ounce = 1 dram = 1/2 teaspoon plus 1/8 teaspoon

* 1/4 fluid ounce = 2 drams = 1 and 1/4 teaspoons or 1/2 tablespoon
* 1/2 fluid ounce = 4 drams =1 tablespoon
* 3/4 fluid ounce = 6 drams = 1 tablespoon plus 1/2 tablespoon
* 1 fluid ounce = 8 drams = 2 tablespoons

The following recipes are all for granular incense, the type one burns on a round of charcoal. DO
NOT USE CHARCOAL BRIQUETS! They give off poisonous fumes when burned indoors.

To make the incense, first powder all your solid ingredients and mix them well in your mortar and
pestle. In a separate container, mix all of the liquid ingredients. Dissolve the saltpeter in the
liquids.

*Slowly* add the liquids to your powdered mixture. Spread in a small tin pan or plastic container
that you do not plan to use for food any longer and allow to dry.

The drying time varies but usually takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
When dry, simply crumble up your incense. It is now ready to burn. Several of the following
recipes call for Tincture of Benzoin. To make your own powder 2 ounces of benzoin gum and add
4 ounces of water and 12 ounces of alcohol. Keep this mixture bottled and capped tightly for two
weeks but do shake it daily. After two weeks, strain the liquid and bottle it for future use.

Incense for Love Rituals- Enticing Love Incense—

This is an incense used in rituals designed to attract, hold, or strengthen love. You can also
smudge your home with it to keep an atmosphere of love and happiness all around.

* 1 oz rose petals
* 1/4 oz sweet bugle (calamus root)
* 1/2 oz cinnamon
* 1/4 oz anise seed
* 1/4 oz frankincense
* 1 oz powdered sandalwood
* 1/4 tsp saltpeter
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin
* 1 dram Seduction Oil

Incense for Meditation- Aura of Enchantment Incense—

This is an incense that can be burned during any type of meditation or prayer.

* 1/4 oz bayberry
* 1/2 oz powdered sandalwood
* 1 oz frankincense
* 1/4 oz anise seed
* 1/4 oz powdered myrrh
* 1/4 tsp saltpeter
* 1 dram Gardenia Oil (or Jasmine Oil)
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin

Prophetic Dreams Incense—

This is a good incense to use during rituals designed to bring about dreams. It may also be used
while attempting astral projection or while practicing divination.

* 1/2 oz powdered sandalwood

* 1/4 oz bayberry
* 1/2 oz rose petals
* 1/4 oz lavender
* 1/4 oz powdered orris root
* 1/4 tsp saltpeter
* 1 dram Frankincense Oil
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin

Incense for Prosperity Rituals- Rising Fame Incense—

This is a success incense to be used in rituals to promote wanted success and prosperity in all
aspects of life.

* 1/2 oz powdered sandalwood

* 1 oz cinnamon
* 1/2 oz frankincense
* 1/4 oz powdered myrrh
* 1/4 oz powdered orris root
* 1 dram Attraction Oil
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin

Shower of Gold Incense—

This is an incense to be used in rituals pertaining to money.

* 1 oz bayberry
* 1 oz powdered sandalwood
* 1 oz powdered frankincense
* 1/4 oz powdered myrrh
* 1 dram Cinnamon Oil
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin

Glow of Health Incense—

This is an incense for rituals designed towards good health.

* 1/2 oz bayberry
* 1 oz powdered sandalwood
* 1 oz carnation petals
* 1/2 oz rose petals
* 1/4 tsp saltpeter
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin

Leprechaun's Gold Incense—

This is an incense for attracting good luck.

* 1 oz cinnamon
* 1 oz powdered sandalwood
* 1 oz powdered frankincense
* 1/4 oz bayberry
* 1/2 oz anise seed
* 1/2 oz grated orange peel
* 1/4 tsp saltpeter
* 1 dram Lemon grass Oil (Louisiana Van Van Oil)
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin

Incense for Exorcisms- Uncrossing Incense—

Some practitioners recommend burning this incense near an open window for 9 consecutive
nights during the waning moon.

* 1/2 oz powdered frankincense

* 1 oz powdered dragon's blood
* 1 oz powdered sandalwood
* 1/4 tsp saltpeter
* 1 dram Gardenia Oil (or Jasmine Oil)
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin

Le Diable S'en Va Incense-- (The devil goes away)

This incense can be used to remove negative energy from within a building.

* 1/4 tsp powdered asafoetida

* 1 oz powdered frankincense
* 1/s oz powdered rosemary
* 1 tbsp powdered vanillin
* 1/4 oz jalop powder
* 1/4 oz basil leaves
* 1/4 tsp saltpeter
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin
* 1 dram Uncrossing Oil

Incense for Protection Rituals --Circle of Protection Incense—

This incense can be used in rituals designed to protect something from evil influences or energy.
It works especially well with Peaceful Home Oil.

* 1 oz powdered sandalwood
* 1/2 oz powdered five-finger grass
* 1/4 oz powdered frankincense
* 1/4 oz grated orange peel
* 1/4 tsp saltpeter
* 1 dram Gardenia Oil (or Jasmine Oil)
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin

Gris-Gris Faible Incense—

This is an incense used to destroy the power of someone trying to harm you but may also be
used as an uncrossing incense.

* 1 oz powdered sandalwood
* 1/2 oz powdered bay leaves
* 1/2 oz powdered dill seed
* 1 tsp powdered asafoetida
* 1/4 tsp saltpeter
* 2 drams Tincture of Benzoin
* 1 dram Uncrossing Oil
