Project Information and Statistics

In this exercise, youll use the Project Information dialogue box to review statistics and compare your original
project plan to current projections.

1. Open Home Construction Project 3A.

Examine the task list. Note Task 0, the Project Summary task. It currently shows a project
duration of 104 days.

2. Choose ProjectPropertiesProject Information to display the Project

Information dialog box.

3. Click the Statistics button in the lower left corner of the screen.

4. Examine the Statistics screen. At this point, your project duration is estimated to be 104 days,
starting on 6/16/14 and ending on11/10/14.

This screen is useful as a quick gauge of the project. It currently shows only the estimated
duration, and the start and finish dates. Later it will show information about actual costs and
work, and enable you to draw a comparison between your original project plan (the baseline)
and the actual amount of work and cost projected.

5. Close the Project Statistics box.

6. Save the file and close it.
