MARINERS CLAIM INF ZACH VINCEJ FROM CINCINNATI


Vincej made his Major League debut last season with the Reds.
SEATTLE, Wash. Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto
announced today that the club has claimed infielder Zach Vincej off waivers from Cincinnati.

Seattles 40-man roster currently stands at 37.

Vincej (pronounced VINCE-ee), 26, made his Major League debut with the Reds in 2017, appearing in 9 games and going
1-for-9 (.111) with 2 runs. The 6-foot, 190-pound shortstop spent most of the 2017 season with AAA Louisville, where he
hit .270 (102x378) with 36 runs, 21 doubles, 4 triples, 3 home runs and 38 RBI in 110 games.

In 2016, Vincej earned a Minor League Rawlings Gold Glove Award at shortstop after leading all minor league shortstops
with a .991 fielding percentage. The 2016 season his 2nd straight full season with AA Pensacola, where he hit .281 (112x399)
with 45 runs, 24 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs and 47 RBI in 121 games. Vincej earned his first invite to Cincinnatis Major
League spring training camp for the 2017 spring.

In parts of 6 minor league seasons in the Reds organization, Vincej is a career .272 (546x2011) hitter with 270 runs, 106
doubles, 13 triples, 16 home runs, 195 RBI and 46 stolen bases in 578 career games. Vincej, a native of San Diego, Calif.,
was selected by Cincinnati in the 37th round of the 2012 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Pepperdine University. He was
the recipient of the Brooks Wallace Award, honoring the nations top collegiate shortstop, as a junior in 2012. Vincej was
also named West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year and All-WCC First-Team that season.
