ANNUAL DIOCESAN ASSEMBLY: NOVEMBER 1st
and 2nd. Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Endicott, NY. Father John and Matushka Ludmila will be attending our Diocesan Assembly as our Parish Representatives at the Annual Diocesan Assembly of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey. Please pray for a safe journey to and from Endicott, New York. Each year this assembly is held so that reports of the Diocese can be heard along with the state of our Diocese. If you would like to read about the Diocesan reports and listen to the address of His Eminence Archbishop Michael, this can be heard on our Diocesan website. TIME TO TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK: Please be reminded that Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 5th. On Saturday, November 4th before you go to sleep, please turn your clocks back one hour and enjoy that extra hour of sleep but please remember to get to church on time. HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY: The traditional holiday of American Thanksgiving will be held on Thursday, November 23rd. This is a time to give thanks to Our Lord for all of the benefits He has Blessed you with, not only on this day but every day of the year. Please pray as a family and come back to the Lord on Sunday and holydays if you have been away for sometime. May Our Good Lord shower His Blessings upon you our Beloved Parishioners, Benefactors and Friends of Saint Marys Parish. Many Blessed Years! GENERAL CONFESSION will be held again on the first Sunday of the month November 5th. Please make an effort to join us on the first Sunday of the month before the Divine Liturgy. There will be no Church School scheduled on the first Sunday of the month so that you can take part in this Sacrament. CHURCH SCHOOL CLASSES: Church School Classes began on Sunday October 8th. We would hope that you will make an effort to join us on Sunday morning beginning at 9:15 am to learn about your orthodox faith and grow in the Lords vineyard. This year we will focus on the Old Testament readings in the Bible beginning with the Book of Genesis. NATIVITY FAST: On November 28th, the Nativity Fast begins for us Orthodox Christians. This fast is in accordance with the celebration of the Feast of the Nativity on January 7th. Please adhere to the fasting regulations from this time period until the Feast of the Nativity.
