TEST -APPEARANCE OF LUBE OILS

TEST METHOD VISUAL

Equipment: Transparent & clear (not coloured) Glass jar / Beaker.

Procedure:-
1) Clean the glass jar/ beaker thoroughly, so no residue/ dirt remain.

2) Shake the sample thoroughly in the sample container.

3) Pour the sample in the Transparent & clear (not coloured) Glass jar / Beaker.

4) Place the Glass jar / Beaker in well-lit area.

5) Observe the sample if it is visually free from any solid matter, suspended
matter /dirt and undissolved water droplets at ambient temperature.

6) Trace amount of moisture may give hazy appearance which is not acceptable.

7) The sample should be considered as Pass in Appearance if it is clear, bright and

free from sediment, suspended matter and undissolved water droplets at normal
ambient temperature.

8) The sample should be considered as Fail in Appearance, if it is not free from any
of the above mentioned parameters.
