La EDT (Estructura de Desglose del Trabajo) o WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) organiza y define el
alcance total del proyecto. La EDT subdivide el trabajo del proyecto en porciones de trabajo ms
pequeas y fciles de manejar, donde cada nivel descendente representa una definicin cada vez mas
detallada del trabajo del proyecto.
Podemos decir que la EDT es la sumatoria de todos los entregables del proyecto, donde los entregables
del nivel mas bajo de la EDT son llamados paquetes de trabajo (work package).

La EDT se crea con el aporte del equipo y de los Interesados (Stakeholders). El proceso
de creacin de la Estructura de Desglose del Trabajo (EDT) ayuda a obtener el
compromiso del equipo y de los otros Interesados (Stakeholders) para los entregables,
porque ellos participan en el esfuerzo de creacin.
