Kindergarteners and Parents,

Learn how to repeat and improvise!

Jam out to some ukulele and
learn about some of the
animals in the jungle

Come join us!

What does your favorite animal
sound like?
Rachel and Jamiahs Jammin Jungle

Objectives:
Have all of the students participate, every student listens to instructions and
follows along. Have every student understand how to repeat, create, and
improvise(coming up with something on the dot, very instinctual and creative)
vocally, mentally, and percussively: artistic development
Artistic Development: becoming more aware of patterns, thinking on own,
expressing oneself, asking questions, being creative, etc.
Activities:
Today - Your child is going to learn how to listen and respond by both using clues
and creativity! They are going to learn about how animals in the jungle sound, and
will create their own animals and how they sound(ex. can be a fish-frog)!
At Home - To further your childs artistic development, you can try this at home! It
doesnt have to be exact, but try implementing repetition and improvisation. A
game similar to this is Simon says, and this game has lots of room for making it
your own. Let the child explore with different sounds and allow them to do so
without a need of musicianship. We are not learning how to sing or play
instruments, we are learning how to be artistic and creative, and to have fun!
Accomplishments: Your child now understands how to listen, repeat, create, and
improvise! This is a key factor for learning communication and language at a
young age, and it positively affects their artistic development!
