The execution of the promotion plan went differently than expected. The famous
beauty vloggers I wanted to contact didnt have a direct message spot on their social media
pages. I did more of a direct posting with comments on their videos or tweeting at them,
hoping I would get some type of notice from them but no luck. I also had a lot of feedback from
Facebook and Instagram posting my like constantly. I observed that posting the link everywhere
and constantly helps get the word out more. I also should have been more proactive towards
the beginning rather than later so I could have gotten all my views.

Reflection
What went according to plan? What did not?
o I knew my social media friends would help out with the views but I felt that not
getting the responses of contacting beauty vloggers and utilizing their audiences
to gain views but that didnt get me much notice no matter how many comments I
made.
What happened that you didnt expect (both positive and/or negative)?
o Negative expectations I received that I did not get as much notice that I was
hoping for since the beauty vlogging community is a huge up and coming trend.
How did you adjust your plan during the campaign?
o I looked for other social media outlets to incorporate different populations that
were outside of my friend group on a personal social media site like Facebook and
Twitter that limits to my friends friends and not all like makeup.
What would you do differently?
o Start my posting sooner than later so I can tap into all my social media websites
so I can get the attention from someone with a huge number of followers at some
point.
What were your most important takeaway(s) about marketing strategy from this project?
(This could be related to product-market fit, segmentation, consumer behavior and
influence, product lifecycle management, promotion and distribution, digital media, etc).
Be sure to use terms from your book.
o The marketing strategy I believe was most important was consumer behavior with using
social media as a platform. Consumers are in tune with social media today that you
need to segment the audiences specifically with every post marketing creates to grab
each individuals attention. Promotion is key especially in the Buzz feed project because
this product was made for enjoyment instead of being a need.
