Introduction: My topic needs no introduction or

introduce. Because it Sundarban.


What and where is Sundarban: Subnarban is a ban
or forest of Sunadari trees. Situated in the south-west
of Bangladesh. Its a mangrove forest. It became
inscribed as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1997.
History: History is huge, can be traced back to200
300 AD. The names are thrilling, no wonder:
Chandsadagar, Akbar. And Portuguese pirates!
Geography: Sundarban is surroubded by Padma,
Brahmaputra and Meghna. The forest covers
10,000 km2. of which about 6,000 are in Bangladesh.
Physiography : Sundarbans is a complex ecosystem.
Rivers in the Sundarbans are meeting places of salt
water and freshwater.
Climate change: Like everywhere in the world,
Sundarban is also in danger caused by the climate
change.
Flora: Sundarban has 245 genres and 334 species of
plants. Gewa, Goran,. Keora, Sundari.
Predator: Sundarban is habitats for the Royal Bengal
Tiger, leopard, jungle cats, fishing cats, leopard cats,
Chital deer, Indian Muntjacs, Wild boars, Saltwater
Crocodile , Mugger crocodile, Gharial ,Water
monitor, lizards, Sharks, Gangetic dolphins, etc.
Avifauna: The forest is also rich in bird life, with
170 species.
Aqua fauna: There are such fishes in Sundarban
that can climb tres!
Reptiles: The Sundarbans National Park houses
an excellent number of reptiles as well.
Economy: The Sundarbans is the single largest
source of forest produce in the country.
Sunarbans culture and Sundarban in culture:
Sundarban has its own god and goddess.
Besides it has inspired the Novelist and film
makers.
