b. Solve word problem involving addition of fractions.

Where do you use this detergent bar?
Are you washing your own clothes class?
Are you helping your mother to do the household

Supposing that your mother is asking you to wash
your clothes.

2. Explanation /discovery
So how do you add fractions?
To add similar fractions or fractions having the
same denominator simply add the numerators and
write the sum over the common denominator.

Ex . 6 + 6
simply add the numerator. What is the numerator
of 2/6 and 1/6?
And write the sum over denominator

How about 4 and 2. Jamel how can you add
these two fractions?
Fractions can only be added when they are
similar. So dissimilar fractions have to be changed
to similar fractions before adding them. You need
to find the common denominator for the dissimilar
fractions for them to become similar fractions.
