Stop Lock

Adirondack Folding Chair Stop Lock

If you are using your chair on uneven ground or sand, you may want to add these stop locks to
the back supports. They will stop the chair back from sinking into the sand and putting the
back into the reclined position. To fold the chair, kick the back support forward and push the
chair forward.
1. Measure up 3" (7.62cm) from the bottom of the back supports E, then in 1" (2.54cm) from
the back edge of E.
2. Using a 7/8" (1.98cm) bit, drill through part E at the intersecting lines in step 1.
3. Cut the slot as shown, file and sand smooth to accept a piece of dowel
4. Using the slot as a guide, drill a 1/4" (6.5mm) hole into the sides of A to accept a piece of 1
1/4" (3.17cm) dowel.
5. Glue & screw the dowels in place.
