simulation game. (Create Level 6)

Introduction: Good morning class, we are going to start today off with our bellringer. Everyone take out a piece
of paper and answer the following questions, what is poverty? How do you think those living in poverty are
affected in their everyday lives? Take a few minutes to write down your answers, and well come back together
to discuss them as class.

Contingency Plan (describe how the lesson could be lengthened and shortened):
Lengthened: If we have a large amount of time left, we will play the game together as a class. The
students will have to work together to make decisions in the game and work towards making it out of the month
with money still left.
Shortened: If we are low on time, the students wont start working on the papers in class. Depending on
what is scheduled for the next day, the students will either have the paper assigned for homework and due the
next day or they will have class time to work on it the following day.
