Dear Sharon Hickman,

My name is Sarah Funk and I am currently a student at

the University of North Florida studying nutrition and
dietetics. I am looking to be accepted into your dietetic
internship program and possibly a permanent position at
your hospital as a registered dietitian. I first heard about
this opportunity when volunteering at the VA in Bay
Pines and immediately became interested in applying
when I finished with my degree. After doing my own
research on your establishment it has only increased my
desire to become a part of your team. The focus of this
program is nutrition therapy in different areas of general
medicine, which is exactly how I would like to spend my
career in dietetics. My ultimate goal as a dietitian is to
become as well rounded and knowledgeable in the
field as possible. I personally believe the best way for me
to achieve that goal is to start my career at the VA
medical center. I believe that I could truly be an asset to
your establishment because I am already somewhat
familiar with the VA system and hold a high importance
for the proper health care of the men and women who
fought for this country. I would love the opportunity to
interview with you and show my true interest and
passion for the nutrition/dietetics field.
