Russia The Early Years When Yusuf Ksa was born in Cyprus in 1977 his
family could never have envisaged the business
success he would display as an adult. He was the

At the age of 27 Yusuf Kisa now established financial advisory businesses in Moscow and at 28 one in
France. n Moscow alone in ten months his business grew to have a turnover of 25 million Euros an
amazing feat. But it did not stop there for in France his second office enabled his overall business a gross
turnover of 300 Million Euros. For many businessmen you would and they themselves would 'say' that is
enough but not Yusuf Ksa all he had on his mind was further expansion. So he appointed managers in
Moscow and France and decided to branch out even further. He took the decision to open two further
offices the third office he opened was in a place called Elk in north-eastern Poland. t was a small city
compared to many but here it was more of a small financial advisory service more on a phi-
anthropological basis yet it would still need the necessary know how and expertise just like the rest. n
Elk he employed some (30) staff and had a gross turnover of 50 million Polish Zloty. The other office was
one of the most audacious decisions that Yusuf Kisa could have been made in his life time.

He decided to return to where it all began his native and much loved Cyprus. His choice of where to
locate is extra ordinary it was Pyla. Pyla if you do not know is a village in the Larnaca area. t is located
within the United Nations buffer zone. From a legal stand point it is administered by the government of
the Republic of Cyprus. However this is disputed at times by the Turkish authorities as the village is still
inhabited by both its original inhabitants.

Yusuf Ksa decided to open a financial advisory office in Pyla here he employed (120) staff over a
period of time the combined business grew to gross an unbelievable turnover of over 2 billion Euros. t
became his central office for the whole of Europe. All in all he now employed in excess of 250 people.
Every type of financial advice was on offer as was every type of financial product.

Why would he open an office in the middle of a UN buffer zone there must have been a reason what
were the benefits of such a decision he explains in his own words ''The decision I took was based on the
fact that Northern Cyprus is not recognised by any country apart from Turkey. The Republic Of Cyprus
the south is recognised by the world community apart from Turkey and Pyla is recognised under the UN
auspices by every country so I could trade freely with every part of the world''.

Having very few restrictions enabled the business to have such an unbelievable rise it would put many
FT100 and NYSE companies to shame. Do you have any regrets? ''I have regrets like every one that's
life''. He replies.

Its hard to see what else a man like Yusuf Ksa wants to do in the future so here again I asked What are
your plans for the future? ''Get back in business'' he replies
