19th Century: first steam bucket dredgers and hopper dredgers were developed
In 1943, the cooperation appeared so successful that the Industriele Handels Combinatie (IHC)
Holland was founded
In 2005 IHC Holland and De Merwede started to work together and IHC Holland Merwede was a fact!
In 2014, in recognition of the contributions by IHC, the King of Netherlands conferred the honorary
title of Royal to IHC Merwede hence today known as Royal IHC!

SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad announced that its Brazilian joint venture

firm Sapura Navegacao Maritima's (SNM) first pipelaying support vessel
(PLSV) commenced operations for Petrobras in the pre-salt waters off Brazil,
three months ahead of contractual delivery date. (Sapura, Rigzone, July
2014)

The 7 Waves will mark the next chapter in our Brazilian operation as the first
of a new generation of high tension pipelayers contracted to Petrobras.
This is a significant milestone in our relationships with both the yard and with
our client. ( John Evans, COO Subsea 7)

Since the Sapura Diamante started operations for Petrobras in early July, the
550-tonne vessel has been working virtually non-stop, operating at a 98%
