CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS


ACADEMIC YEAR 2012 2013

PREAMBLE

We, the bonafide Business Administration students major in Business Economics of


the University of Southeastern Philippines, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to
build and establish an organization, seek to promote foster moral, spiritual views and academic
welfare needs of all students of the organization through innovative, creative, and wholesome
activities and shall represent the Bachelor of Business Economics Students major in Business
Economics, do hereby establish this constitution.

ARTICLE I

Name of the Organization

Section 1. The official name of the organization shall be ASSOCIATION OF BUSINESS


ECONOMICS STUDENTS.

Section 2. The organization can use the acronym ABES.

ARTICLE II

Objectives

Section 1. The objectives of this organization shall be:


a. To represent the Business Administration students major in Business
Economics in this University.
b. To develop camaraderie among Business Administration students of all year
levels.
c. To involve and exposed in activities in school and outside the campus which
is related to the course.

Section 2. The organization as a whole shall not involve in any political movement.
ARTICLE III

Bill of Rights and Obligation

Section 1. Every member of the organization shall have the right to express their thoughts and
ideas before the assembly and as well present their options to specific issues related to the
organization in manner of the courtesy.

Section 2. Every member of the organization shall not be deprived of the right to be informed
of the decisions, orders, and activities of the organization which directly affect/s them.

Section 3. All members and officers attend meetings called upon the organization head.

ARTICLE IV

Membership and Funding

Section 1. Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program of


the College of Governance and Business must be a member of the ABES.

Section 2. Membership fee is ninety pesos only (Php 90.00)

Section 3. The money will only be collected by the treasurer of the organization.

Section 4. Money shall be withdrawn through induction following the budget proposal
prepared or through resolutions approved by the officer and signed by president and adviser of
the organization.

Section 5. Membership shall be automatically withdrawn upon graduation or upon transfer of


the organization.

ARTICLE V

Election

Section 1. Every bonafide member of the organization has the right to be elected.

Section 2. There shall be a division of the house. Nominees with the highest number of vote
shall be given the position for.

Section 3. Objection of nominees prior to the voting procedure much be considered.

ARTICLE VI

Administration
Section1. The general administration and the direction of the affair of the organization shall be
in hands of the following officers:
a. President
b. Vice President
c. Secretary
d. Treasurer
e. Auditor
f. Business Manager

Section 2. Officers referred to in the preceding section shall hold their respective officers for
turn of one year until the next elected and qualified officer.

Section 3. In case of vacancy due to resignation or impeachment of an officer, the officer next
to the vacated position shall automatically fill in the vacant position especially those with
crucial responsibility like president and treasurer.

ARTICLE VII

Faculty Adviser

Section 1. Shall be a member or members of the faculty or staff and shall serve in an advisory
capacity to the organization.

Section 2. Adviser of the organization must be appointed by the organization itself. She/he will
approve any projects and proposal of the organization and advice what the organization need
to do.

Section 3. The previous adviser shall remain as mentor of the organization, if and only if, the
person withdraws the responsibility of the organization.

ARTICLE VIII

Duties and Responsibilities

Section 1. The President shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
a. Call and preside any meetings of the organization.
b. Prepare and introduce the agenda every meeting.
c. Shall sign all documents, resolutions, ordinances, project proposals and
other similar communications.
d. Shall coordinate with the Office of the Student Affairs and Services (OSAS)
of the University pertaining any matters to its activities and members.
e. Attend meetings called by the Local Council of the College of Governance
and Business that necessities representation of the organization.

Section 2. The Vice President shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
a. Shall assume the duties of the president in case of the formers absence or
disability.
b. Shall assist the president in every possible way.
c. Shall function as directed by the president.

Section 3. The Secretary shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
a. Keep all the records and documents of the organization.
b. Record all the minutes of the organizational meetings.
c. Present all the minutes of the previous meetings on the next proceedings.
d. Shall furnish copies, notes and written or verbal communication to all
concerned members and parties.

Section 4. The Treasurer shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
a. Collect all necessary payments or fees from all members.
