Gray marks,streaksor smudgeson clothingaftera wash
cycle.

CAUSE:
At the end of the cycle,the wash platenutatesfor
approximately30 secondsto fluff the clothingafterthe
f inalspin.The actionof f luffingcausesthe outerwash
plateseal to rub againstthe stainlesssteelbasketwhile
they are both relativelydry. This conditioncausesthe gray
discoloration.

COMPLAINT:
An updatedmachinecontrol,part number8542693,is
now available.The updatedcontrolreducesthe flufftime
{rom 30 secondsto 8 seconds,allowingthe clothingto be
lluffed,withoutcausingdiscoloration.
Gray marks or smudgescan be washedout of clothing
afterwipingdownthebasket.Theconsumer shoulduse
the recommended amountof HEdetergentandthe hottest
watersafe{orthefabricor handwashthe garmentunder
runningwater.In eithercase,thefabricmustbe cleaned
priorto runningthroughthedryer.
