In September 24, 2017 was my first day at school for teaching practice 4a, I get to
school earlier at 7:10 am. I shocked when I get in the school, they did not know that I
will come to have my TP in their school. However, I set with my MST to explain for
her what to do during the TP. I attended the assembly and the classes with her. They
stared the class with introducing the concept of the lesson, they have to take 15 minutes
for that. I notice that children did not behave well at the end of the carpet time. They
must reduce the time of the carpet to avoid get students board. Also, I observe that my
MST did not have well management all students were misbehave and did not listen to
her. At the end of the day, I felt happy because I will practice with native speaker
In September 25, 2017, I attended the school. As usual routine I attend the assembly
morning. In this day the circle time was for my class KG2 1. Therefore, I observed my
MST when she manage the circle. I think that my MST did not have a management for
class. All students were talking during the lesson when she talking. So, I decided that
when my MST has the class with KG2 2, I will try to apply my Management strategies.
I helped my MST with applying small group activity. They did the hunting fish game
and writing the letter on the board. Also, I used my time at school to do my assessment
for the curriculum design course, which require data from the school and MST about
the curriculum. At the end of the day, I felt that I need to improve the classroom
management strategies.
In September 26, 2017, as usual I attended the school at early morning. I used this time
to set with my MST to discuss some topics and issues. I helped her preparing the
lesson's activities. Also, it interesting to notice that in this day I attend the circle time
with Arabic teacher to teach my class my rules. I felt they will learn them easy and they
start to respond with me. I monitored also children during the playtime in order to build
relationship with them. At afternoon, I attend the lesson with English teacher to do
activities for the lesson during the learning centers. I did with small group the activity.
At the story time I read a story for them which was "Very Hungry Caterpillar". I did
one activity for small group. At the end of the day, I felt that I did great job on
In September 27, 2017, it was another day of school. I attend at 7:10 am. I used this
time to work in my assessments. I attend the circle time with my MST. I helped her
with small group and managing student's behavior because students still need to
practice their rules. I complete my activity for the story in the learning center time. The
activity was about making caterpillar by ordering the letters to make their names. At
the end of the day, I felt comfortable of the school system in the school.
In October 1, 2017, it was a normal day at school. I attend the assembly morning and I
monitored students in the playground. I helped my MST doing the math activity for the
students by doing that for small group. I taught my first lesson in this day. I read a story
about "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?" the lesson goes good, my
instructions were great but I think students need more management during the reading
story. Some students were participating and doing the activities well. At the end of the
In October 2, 2017, I were absent because I was sick and I had a sick leave.
In October 3, 2017, I attend the school as usual. I attended the morning assembly. I
taught students a lesson about the letter "a" sound at the morning. I complete teaching
my students about the story at afternoon. I applied the activities for the groups. Also, I
monitored students during the playtime. I used my time at school to plan with my MST
for the next lesson. I shared with her my activities and my ideas. At the end of the day,
In October 4, 2017, it was another day of school. I attend at 7:10 am. I used this time
to work in my assessments. I attend the circle time with my MST. I helped her with
small group and managing student's behavior because students still need to practice
their rules. I reviewed the letter "a" sound. I complete the activities for the students,
who did not do it "students who did the small group with the Arabic teacher". I think
the revision was don great and successfully and students were able to recognize the
sound of the letter "a" at the end of the day, I felt proud of my efforts in the school and
teaching.
In October 8, 2017, it was a normal day in the school. When we came to school, there
was no electricity until 10:00 am. My MST taught students about the letter /t/. I used to
take small group to do the activity about reviewing letters sounds. I notice that students
recognize the sound of the letter more than the name of the sound. Ii always taught my
students the sound but my MST taught them the name of the letter. Also, in this day the
principal call me to translate some think to English. I felt proud of myself when I help
other staff in the school. When students left the school, I set with my MST planning for
the next lesson. I used my time to plan and prepare for the lessons. At the end of the
In October 9, 2017, it was busy day at the school. The principal asked me to design the
entrance of the school and organize the library with the teachers. Therefore, I spent all
my time at the morning working with teachers and principal. At afternoon, I helped my
MST with the class activities. She did for them art activity and she did not teach them.
Because of that I did not teach in this day. I prepared for the story reading but I could
not read it. At the end of the day, I felt happy and proud of my involvement in the school
activities and work. Sometime the teacher need to do the school activities not just
teaching.
In October 10, 2017, as usual I attended the classroom with the teacher at the morning.
In this day also, I could not teach because my MST has an observations from the MOE
and Principle. This day was busy day for me, because the principle asked me to be with
her to translate what the gest from MOE was saying. I think the school need to have a
teacher who can speak in English in the school administrations. However, I get an
experience of how evaluating teachers is run and what the MOE are forcing in to help
me as a teacher in the future. I just did an observations and do some duties like
monitoring students during the playground and the snake time. At the end of the day, I
set with my MST chatting and discussing the issues in the school as well as preparing
In October 11, 2017, as usual I prepared for the lesson. In this day it is suppose that my
MCT came to observe me. However, she did not come. Therefore, I taught the class
about the letter /t/. I taught them alone because my MST and the Arabic teacher went
to the teachers meeting. I went with the teacher to the playground. I did an observation
with the MST in the other class. At the end of the day I felt happy about my efforts at
school.
In October 15, 2017, it was a normal day at school. I attended the school early at 7:10
am. There was no teachers, so I prepared my activities for the lesson until students and
teachers came. In this day, I change my circle time from the 9:15 am to 11:10 am
because my MCT will come to observe me. But, my MCT late when she observed my
colleague, so she came to observed me at 12. The lesson was great and successful. My
MCT gave me good feedback and she like my teaching as a teacher. At the end of the
In October 16, 2017, it was a normal day at school. I attended the morning assembly.
Due to one teacher absents, we went with my MST cover KG2 1 and I stayed at the
classroom with her all the day. At the morning circle I helped the teacher running the
circle with her. Also, I helped her monitoring students at the playground. This day was
busy day because I stayed all the time with the students and I could not teach my
In October 17, 2017, students went to the field trip because my MST did not go I stayed
at school to cover the KG1 class when their teacher was absent.
In October 18, 2017, as normal day I attended the assembly and monitored students at
the playground. In this day I did complete my teaching for the previous lesson. I became
with my MST in another classroom, because she is covering the class because their
teacher was absent. In this day I involved with the school activity in the nutrition day.
I helped teacher design the school and arrange the healthy food. At the end of the day,
Sunday, October 22, 2017, it was a normal day at school. At the early morning I
attended the morning assembly with students. Then I went with my MST to class for
the morning circle. The Arabic teacher were taking the circle. Also, in this day the
teacher introduce the new lesson which was about the letter/i/. I helped her doing a
small group teaching and applying an activity. I think some student were able to say the
sound of letter sound/i/ and the other need the time to practice the sound. At the play
time I went outside to monitor with my MST students while they are playing. At the
end of the day when the students leave, I set with my MST to plan for the next lesson.
Monday, October 23, 2017, also in this day I could not teach my lesson because my
MST were covering other class. Therefore, I engaged to help my MST doing art activity
for the class. In my opinion, I think the school must provide another teacher to cover
the absent teachers. That will not affect the students learning. However, in this day
monitored the students during the playtime. In the second period, also I could not teach
them because some people from social services to aware children about something. At
the end of the day, I set with my MST discussing some issues about teaching.
Tuesday, October 24, 2017, it was a normal day at school. When I came I prepared the
class for the lesson. But the shock is I could not teach because the KG2 1 teacher were
absent, so she cover her class all day. I helped my MST and my colleague doing the
activities for her lesson. I just observed their teaching and helping them. In this day, I
went outside to monitored students in the playground and the meal time. At the end of
the day, I set with my MST discussing some issues about teaching.
Wednesday, October 25, 2017, it was a great day because finally I taught my lesson for
my students. The lesson was successful and students learned the parts of plants. Then
when I finished the lesson, my MST went to cover the class that the teacher absent. I
helped her doing the activity for the letter /i/. I monitored students during the playtime
and the meals. At the end of the day, I set with my MST discussing some issues about
teaching and I attend the teacher meeting. I think it useful as a student's teachers to
In October 29, 2017, it was a normal day at school. I attended the school early at 7:05
am. There was no teachers, so I prepared my activities for the lesson until students and
teachers came. In this day, I change my circle time from the 9:15 am to 10:55 am
because my MCT will come to observe me. The lesson was great and successful. My
MCT gave me good feedback and she like my teaching. In this day children did not do
many activities. They practice for the fire evacuation. The recite of the day, I went with
my MST to cover the class KG1 because their teacher was absent. At the end of the day
In October 30, 2017, I attended the school at the early morning as usual. In this day, my
MST was absent. So, I were confusion of what to do, since I cannot teach students alone
without my MST. I just attend the class with Arabic teacher to help her and do the small
group activities. At the end, I was setting with other teacher since I am waiting for my
ride to go to home.
In October 31, 2017, it was a normal day at school at the morning I attended with my
MST the morning circle and the morning assembly. In this day at the morning I taught
my students about the letter /n/. In this lesson I just reviewed the letter and complete
my activities for the students who did not do them. For the second period I went with
my MST to KG2 1, I observed my MST teaching them and help her doing the activity.
At the end of the day I helped my MST posting students work outside in the display
environment.
In November 1st, 2017, I came to school early at the morning. I set with my MST
discussing my evaluation for the last lesson that I taught. Then at the morning she did
not went to my class, since she has to go to the other class of KG2 so I spent my time
doing my college work. I monitored students during the playtime and the meal. At the
second period I attend my classroom, the Arabic teacher was teaching children and my
MST did a small group activity and I did one small activity for children about writing
the letter /n/. At the end of the day, I felt proud of myself as I am a teacher in the school,
In November, 5th 2017, as usual I went to school at early morning and there was no
teacher came yet to school. So, I set completing my college work. I attended the
classroom with my MST. In this day, I cloud not teach my students the lesson because
they went to the field trip. My MST did not go with them she went to the KG1 classroom
to cover their class since their teacher were absent. Therefore, I helped her doing
activities for KG1 until my class came to the school from the trip. Then I went to class
and the Arabic teacher were teaching them and I did just the small group with my MST.
At the end of the day, I set with my MST discussing the school issues and students
learning.
In November 6th, 2017, I attended the school at the morning. I prepared for my lesson.
In this day, I went with my MST and girls in the school to see the movie for Sharjah
Cinema Festival. I enjoyed with children watching the movie. However, when we came
back, I taught my students about the letter /m/ and I did the small groups activities. The
lesson was done successfully. In this day, I set with my MST discussing my feedbacks
for the last four lessons that I taught. She gave me a good feedbacks and she said there
is a progress in my teaching. At the end of the day, I felt happy and satisfied about my
efforts at school.
In November 7th 2017, I went to school as usual. In this day, at the morning I set to
prepare for the tomorrow lesson. Then, I went to the other KG2 class to help my MST
doing the activity for the small group. At afternoon, my class have the outdoor activity
with Arabic and English teachers. They went outside to plant plants and seeds. I helped
them prepare the ground. I think that is very useful think to let children go outside and
take the risk. That can help them be aware of the environment around them and help
them learn about the plants. At the end of the day, I set with the teacher they were in
the meeting they discussing about the new system of managing behaviors of the
In November 8th 2017, I went with the school to book fair. We spent all the time there
and we went late to school. In the book fair, students have a lot of activities. They
attended the storytelling session. At the end of the day, I said bye for the teachers and I
