How Homework Is Make Effective At Primary Level
Introduction:

It is a widespread belief among school leaders, teacher and parents that homework
is a valuable educational tool. Homework assignment is decided by the teachers in the
classroom. Homework is the tool which makes the student independent.

What is Homework?

Homework is a task assign by teacher intended to carry out during non-school


hours. Common homework activities in primary schools tends to be reading or practising
spelling and number facts, but may also include more extended activities to develop inquiry
skills.

Types of Homework:

I. Written homework for home

II. Oral learning


III. Test preparation
IV. Item collection
V. Practical work
VI. Offer any specific assignment related to the subject

How effective is it?

It is certainly the case that the schools whose students do homework tend to be
more successful. However it is less clear that the homework is the reason why they are
successful. There are stronger evidences that it is helpful at secondary and primary level.
Homework has a great effect at primary and secondary level because it develops a routine
for students and self motivated working pattern. Homework improves academic
performance for primary school students but homework also has a beneficial point that is
promoting parental engagement.
Reasons why homework is important?

There are a large number of reasons that proves that homework is homework:

I. Improving thinking and memory


II. Positive study skills & habits
III. To use time wisely
IV. Make them able to do some task individually
V. Make them responsible
VI. Make them ready for next day working
VII. Teachers & parents interaction about the learning of the students.

Conclusion:

To conclude we may safely say that homework is important both at primary and
secondary level. It makes the students capable to do their work independently. It makes
them aware about spelling mistakes. It is helpful in revising information about current
affairs. Homework makes them able to read for pleasure. Homework makes the students to
not waste their precious time in useless habits. Through homework children develop time
management and study skills.
