4. Activities/ Tasks: (What learning experiences will students engage in? How will you
use these learning experiences or the student products as formative assessment
opportunities?)

We will begin with a discussion where the class is posed with the question What is
Bullying?
I will allow students to speak with their pair-share partners. I will walk around and
listen in to students discussions and add input where necessary.
We will then come back together as a class and talk about things that would be
considered bullying and things that would not. I would like to stress frequency. If
someone teases you one time it would not be considered bullying.
We will then discuss what you should do if you feel someone is bullying you. We will
brainstorm the different people you can go to if you feel there is a problem.
I will then pose another discussion question for students. What role can you play so
everyone feels safe and accepted at school?
After we discuss this whole group we will begin a team building activity.
Students will be given an outline of a person. They will then be asked to write unkind
words around the outline. Then I will ask them to crumple up their paper. Then I will
ask them to smooth it out again. When students realize that no matter how much
they smooth it the wrinkles will still be there I will explain than that is the effect that
words leave on people. Even if you didnt mean it, or apologize the marks of the
words are still left o the person. I am hoping this will resonate with the students.

5. Resources/Materials: (What texts, digital resources, & materials will be used in this
