1. Jasmine, I like the way you went back to check your work before moving on to the next
problem.
2. Thank you for doing your work quietly Trace, it makes it easier for other students to do
their work.
3. I like the way Olivia, Tommi, and Tate came in and started working on their Mental
Math and Fluency right away.
4. Jasmine, thank you for taking the time to write out the problems nice and neat!
5. Brant, I like the way that you are walking down the hallway nice and quiet with your
hands to yourself.
6. Braiden, I like the details that you added to this autobiography. It made the story more
unique and helped the reader really be able to feel like they know you.
7. Megan, I like the way that you are working quietly on your Math Boxes
8. Julie I like the way that you didnt give up and just kept trying the problem until you
figured it out.
9. Tate, I like the way you spoke loud and clear when you were presenting your number
story to the class.
10. I like the way this class is sitting in a 3 S line waiting on the Mrs. Reigel to let you
into the classroom!

Meaningful praise is a useful Classroom Management tool as well as a way to build a

great relationship with your students. When you use meaningful praise instead of just using
empty praise, there are several positive impacts on the students. One positive impact is that it
helps the students see exactly what they are doing that you like. Instead of just being told that
their work or behavior is good, they know exactly what aspects of their work/behavior is good. It
makes them feel proud and more likely to continue that behavior in the future. It also shows them
that you notice little details about the things that they do and that you appreciate those things. I
also noticed that it would make the other students around them that heard the meaningful praise
start having the same behavior. I really enjoyed using it and felt like I had positive reactions from
every student and the class as a whole when I used it. Meaningful Praise is awesome and
something I will keep practicing and using in my everyday routine!
