Main theme: A Decade of Establishing Islamic Banking and Finance System in
Tanzania: Where are we?

Invitation:

CIFCA-JIBF invites academicians, practitioners and postgraduate students to submit academic


articles to be published in the CIFCA Journal of Islamic Banking and Finance which is expected
to be released in January, 2018.

About the Journal:

The CIFCA-JIBF is a peer reviewed bi-annual journal published by the Centre for Islamic
Banking and Finance Compliance and Advise (CIFCA) whose aim is to publish well researched
papers, book and paper reviews, comments and letters to the Editor focusing on Islamic banking
and finance issues in Tanzania and the world at large.

Topics of Interest

CIFCA-JIBF welcomes both theoretical and empirical papers within the broad areas of Islamic
banking and finance, with a particular focus on the central theme of this edition which is
focusing on a Decade of establishing Islamic banking and finance system in Tanzania: Where are we?

Sub themes for the upcoming issue includes but not limited to the following areas;-
Legal, Regulatory and supervisory frame work for Islamic financial system in Tanzania
Participation and Role of Tanzanian Islamic Organizations/Institutions in propagating
the use of interest-free banking system in Tanzania.
Financial stability of banks offering Islamic banking products and services.
The role of Islamic financial products and services in transforming peoples lives in
Tanzania
The role of regulatory and supervisory authorities such as Bank of Tanzania, Tanzania
Insurance Regulatory Authority, Capital Market and Securities Commission, Social
Security Benefits Authority and others in promotion of Islamic banking and finance in
Tanzania
The potential and status of Islamic Insurance (Takaful) in increasing Insurance products
penetration in Tanzania
The Status and Role of Islamic Microfinance Institutions in poverty eradication in
Tanzania.
Legal challenges facing Islamic banking system in Tanzania
The status and role of higher learning institutions in shaping future leaders of Islamic
Finance in the Tanzania.

Important dates: Submission of abstracts: 22th Nov. 2017


Notification of acceptance: Immediately after abstract submission
Submission of Full length articles: 2nd Jan. 2018
Submission of Final articles: 16th Jan. 2018
Launching of the Journal: 26th-Jan. 2018
NOTE: Special instructions on manuscripts preparations will be supplied privately to interested authors.

Subscription Fee for members and authors: Subscription fee of TSH. 75,000 shall be paid annually for all members. Ten percent discount policy shall
apply to Authors only.
