WHEN CONSIGNING PRODUCT TO TOSHIBA’S STORAGE DEVICE DIVISION REPAIR CENTER, THE CUSTOMER AGREES TO
THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

1. Toshiba’s limited warranty: covers defects in material or workmanship in NEW products only. Only consumers
purchasing products form authorized distributors may obtain limited warranty coverage.

Toshiba Hard disk drives installed in and purchased as part of another device such as but not limited to Laptops,
MP3 players or Non-Toshiba branded external housing are warranted by the devices manufacturer and Toshiba
provides no limited warranty. Please contact the place of purchase or product manufacturer directly for warranty
service.

2. REPAIR WARRANTY: All warranties are void if Toshiba finds that the product(s) have been abused,
physically damaged or altered in any way without prior written authorization from Toshiba. Such products are
then repaired only with the customer’s prior approval, including agreeing to pay Out-of-Warranty repair charges.

3. PROTECTION OF STORED DATA: TOSHIBA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS OF DATA,
OR ANY OTHER DAMAGE RESULTING FROM FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION OF THE PRODUCT. WHEN
COPYING OR TRANSFERRING YOUR DATA, PLEASE BE SURE TO CONFIRM WHETHER THE DATA HAS BEEN
SUCCESSFULLY COPIED OR TRANSFERRED. TOSHIBA DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY FOR THE FAILURE TO
COPY OR TRANSFER THE DATA CORRECTLY.
BEFORE RETURNING THE PRODUCT FOR SERVICE, BE SURE TO BACKUP DATA AND REMOVE ANY
CONFIDENTIAL, PROPRIETARY, OR PERSONAL INFORMATION. TOSHIBA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR (1)
DAMAGE TO OR LOSS OF ANY PROGRAMS, DATA, OR REMOVABLE STORAGE MEDIA, OR (2) THE
RESTORATION OR REINSTALLATION OF ANY PROGRAMS OR DATA OTHER THAN SOFTWARE INSTALLED
BY TOSHIBA WHEN THE PRODUCT WAS MANUFACTURED

4. Turn Around Time (TAT): The Standard TAT times for repair are 10 to 30 working days. There may be
exceptional circumstances with certain drives that may require a longer TAT. We make every effort to keep the
TAT to a minimum.
5. PACKAGING: Please clearly mark the RMA# on the outside of the packaging. Damage or loss of goods during
shipment is the sole responsibility of the customer. Products must be returned in their original carton or in
packaging of equal or greater quality. Appropriate care must be taken to protect the drive from damage or the
warranty will be voided. Do not use "popcorn" or paper as filler as they do not sufficiently protect the drive.
Toshiba is not liable for any accessories shipped with the drive (e.g. connectors, brackets, media, software, CD(s),
manual, etc.). DO NOT return anything but the drive.

5. RMA NUMBER: An RMA number is required. Any product returned without a valid RMA or no RMA number
will be refused and returned to the sender. RMA numbers are only valid for 45 days from the date they are issued.
6. PRODUCT: Ship only products specified on the original RMA request, do not include any additional drives.
Any additional drives will require a new RMA number and will delay the original RMA processing.
7. SHIPPING COST: The customer is responsible for the cost of shipment to the Repair Center and Toshiba will
be responsible for the cost of the shipment back to customer.
