REPORT CRITIC “The Road Not Taken”

By Robert Frost

Something that surprises me about poems is its dynamic and relation whit the

reality (in some case, in other case the authors use parody, satire, etc.) and how they

were inspired for explain their feelings. In this poem, as soon as I read the title impact

me and encouraged me to read in lively way.

Some Commentators talk about the metaphor that is used in this portion, it mean

that Robert Frost use symbols for explain better the idea for express. Really, I think that

the best form to write something is using abstract things. For example: I had written two

articles about scatological prophecy and theology of Shabbat, and I admit, I wrote it

using some terms with symbols. And this is not just before, now I am writing other and

I continue using that.

Hence, in this case I am agree whit the uses that Robert had written in his poem.

From the title (THE ROAD NOT TAKEN) to last verse, each phrase explain me a

decision to choose between just two options, one common when all people used to

traveled and the other opposed. At finish of this poem, He make a decision, he took the

one less traveled. Nevertheless, this decision didn´t be easiest, because he chose the way

that was different of rest. So, for this cause I emphasize he is different because he

wanted.

This poem has a great similitude with a biblical verse “No man can serve two

masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the

one, and despise the other” Matthew 6:24. Therefore, If we choose the correct way

(Jesus) He will give us Eternal Life, but if we choose the other way (Satan) we won´t

have this great gift. Maybe this life promise us better thing, a lot of money, etc. We

should remember that “we cannot serve God and mammon” Luke 16: 13. In this case,
this poem gives us a good reference of the ways to choose. Always Jesus will be the

correct way. Don´t forget.

Is important highlight that this poem maybe doesn´t is Adventist; hence we can

take this advice if we wish, however, the Bible said “For there is one God, and one

mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” 1 Timothy 2:5. I think don´t

have any problem in take this poem how a good example for use in church.

In conclusion, I think this poem gives us the opportunity to be different in some

decisions but we have to present that Jesus want to give us another opportunity too for

come back to him. The way that we will take tomorrow, could give us tranquility and

patient to do all and help to everyone, because “We can do all things through Christ

which strengtheneth me” Philippians 4:13.
