 CAREER LIFE CONNECTIONS

Throughout history, climate change has occurred, affected, and will continue to affect every

region of the planet. According to (Climate Change: How do we know? 2017) in the last

650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the abrupt end of

the last ice age about 7,000 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era and of

human civilization. While the first six occurred vastly due to variations in Earth orbit affecting

the amount of solar energy our planet receives, the most recent end of an ice age is,

extremely likely (greater than 95 percent probability) to be the result of human activity.

This project will help demonstrate the effects of climate change on societies/regions around the

world. It will consist of creating a video presentation to be shown to a wide audience,

highlighting its effects, causes, reasons why people do not believe in it, and solutions. The video

will be a short film, describing the above facts. It will be presented at the Capstone Fair

alongside a research paper, and other visual aspects.

In completing this project, it will assist in pursuing future careers in possible sociology positions,

biological sciences, including things like marine biology. Not only that, but the interactions in

making a difference and constructing such a video is out of my comfort zone and will no doubted

have a positive impact on future positions and public speaking assignments.
