1 recently created an office dedicated to focusing on building Disaster Risk

2 Reduction Management or DRRM in the education sector. The DRR

3 curriculum integration with extra-curricular activities such as student-led

4 risk identification, promoting scouting and other student organizations to

5 teach life skills, and the regular conduct of drills. They are formalizing and

6 rolling out psychosocial support for students.

20 environment. The Comprehensive Schools Safety frameworks with the

21 four themes of prevention, preparedness, response, and rehabilitation

22 and recovery. This framework guides education planning and supervision

4 NP2: K to 12? Its a program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic

5 education. We are having 6 years of primary education, 4 years of Junior

6 High School and 2 years of Senior High School. This 2015, we are getting

7 ready for the implementation of Senior High School in school year 2016-

8 2017. Now, we are on the fifth year of the implementation of the K to 12

9 Program. Our last mile is the Senior High School. And it is the first time in

10 the history that the entire curriculum is digitized and made accessible.

11 These plans were reviewed by a separate team and finalized upon

12 consultation with other stakeholders.

18 The Department of Education has built sixty-six thousand, eight hundred

19 thirteen classrooms from 2010 to 2013. There are thirty-three thousand,

20 six hundred eight classrooms completed and undergoing construction in

21 2015. From 2010 to 2014, DepEd has filled one hundred twenty-eight

1 thousand, fifty-five new teacher items who will teach the core subjects

2 and will teach the specialized subjects per track. Learning materials are

3 being produced and released. Are we really ready for K to 12? Well,
