Activity: The student will navigate to the Symbaloo Kinder American Symbols Webmix to view and choose resources to create a presentation on. The student will then navigate to VoiceThread to contribute to the class-created presentation. The student will create an informational slide on the American symbol that they chose. The slide will include a picture of the American symbol selected, an explanation of the meaning of the symbol, and any other important information about the symbol that the student wants to include. VoiceThread allows the use of pictures, photos, audio messages, or text messages to present with. It also allows students to interact with students from other schools by way of audio and/or messaging comments. Activity Extension: The student may also work on the assignment at home with his/her parents using the web 2.0 tools provided. Curated Resource Set: The provided curated Symbaloo set: Kinder American Symbols Webmix Assessment ( teacher, self, peer): After the deadline, the students will present their slides on the Promethean Activ Board. The teacher will assess each student based on combination rubric scores from the teacher rubric, student-self-assessment rubric, and the peer-assessment rubric.
