Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
Prior to this activity, the students will be introduced to the topic and have a chance to see visuals from the
textbook. The activity will be introduced by the teacher after the students have some knowledge on the topic
so that it is not unfamiliar. I will provide the students with a direct link to take them to the set of activities on
Quizlet and they can explore the different ways to use sets on Quizlet.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
Assess prior knowledge Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) To illuminate common
misconceptions Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) Summative assessment of content knowledge Test preparation
Survey/Poll Discussion starter Homework collection Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

During the activity, the students will learn about organisms and energy flow through the various activities
with the Quizlet set. The teacher will walk around as the students work and answer any questions about
Quizlet or the words they are seeing while still allowing them the chance to learn at their own pace. For this
activity, the students will need either a computer, tablet, or other mobile device that can connect to Quizlet
through the link I provide. This activity will last about 30 minutes so that they have sufficient time to explore
the topic.

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

Yes No
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)

Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not? The questions deal mostly with definitions, and they will have the chance to play the games
or go through the flashcards multiple times. In testing mode, Quizlet automatically provides the correct
answers once the test is completed. I think this will help them to see where they need more help in
understanding the material, and seeing it multiple times will help solidify the information in their minds.

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity? After the activity, the class will have a concluding
discussion on the questions and will have the chance to ask for clarification on anything they do not
understand. The teacher will see what the class needs to spend more time and adjust the remaining class
time on that information.

How will the data be used?

The teacher will gather which terms need the most review for the class and which parts are mostly
understood by the students. Which questions were answered incorrectly the most will tell the teacher what
needs to be discussed more with the students; it can be individually based or by the class as a whole. The data
will remain anonymous, but it will tell the teacher what to focus on for the students. Activities following this
will help those students who are struggling to understand the topic or it will further establish the gained
knowledge for the students.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.

My personal learning goal for this activity is to assess which ways the students in my class are learning the
material. From this, I hope to provide similar activities to help the students learn.
