Overall aim and context of the lesson:

1LCP1 use print and pictures to convey meaning


1LLK1 recognize ones name in isolation and within text
1LP1 generate beginning consonant sounds in words and match sounds to a letter when
reading writing

Choose two aspects from the competency areas to evaluate and discuss (one paragraph
each) according to following:

1. discuss one aspect that you feel you did very well. Try to analyse why you
think it worked well and what hints you would share with other teachers
about the successful strategy/ resource/activity/management style etc.

Positive aspect of the lesson:

I feel that I did very well when I

- Reviewing the HFW by using HFW cubes and I think that it make the students engaged to read and
recognize the words.
- Introducing about the book and how they can read the title by asking them what is the sound of the
letters and what is the letters. That's mean to describe to them what the difference between them is.
- Asking the students to read the HFW in the book, asking them what they see in the pictures to keep
them pay attention to me and to let them explore the information which the pictures convey the
meaning of the text.
- Asking the students to try to read the sentences in the book and read the new words.
- Explaining the meaning of each new vocabulary in book by showing them, e.g. how to dug a hole or
how to crawled like the mother turtle.
- Using real objectives to demonstrate new things in the book , for instance, bring sand to teach the
students this called sand ,and bring a big toy turtle to represent mother turtle and small toy turtle to
represent baby turtle.
- Demonstrate and ask about the cycle of the turtle journey by using 2 boxes represent the sea and the
beach and big and small turtle toys.

2. elaborate on the aspect identified by you that requires attention. Discuss


what the problem was, why it occurred and what action you intend to take to
be more successful in the next lesson.
Requires Attention:

My problem was using some classroom management strategies didn't work with the students who
misbehave during the lesson.

3. outline the personal focus and goal of the next lesson


Personal focus for the next lesson:

I think that in the next lesson I will use some classroom management strategies that my MST already uses
them to work with students.
