Abstract

This self-reflection is about me and my general education. The major of Organizational

leadership, the bachelors of applied science. I will also talk about my professional skills; the

work experience I have had in my past years. And the knowledge I have gained form everything

I have done till now.

Reflection

Introduction

Now that the end is near, close to graduation this past year that I have been studying in

South Texas college for the organizational leadership bachelors of applied science has served me

well. I have gained a lot of knowledge from my core curriculum electives. This courses showed

me about the collaboration, participation and effective management as being a team leader. I

have dreamed of leading a classroom since I have graduated with my associates. I have always

wanted to teach math to elementary students.

My general education is Organizational Leadership is my career path. The general

education courses that I have taken in South Texas college have been some of most relevant and

thought-provoking classes. This classes have given me opportunities to understand and relate to

the real world. The courses of Behavior ethics leadership working on those case study has given

me a chance to know real world on companies. I do believe that knowledge is defined by the

facts and information and skills acquired by the person. Knowledge comes from education,

where it starts its a journey, in which we travel in mind and learn each step of way. I know

teaching is a demanding job that requires time, planning, and structuring a lesson and getting the

point across the whole classroom. Teachers are leaders, and they require leadership skills to lead

a classroom. Overall, general education classes are essential to South Texas College experience

as well as developing me as a person and a leader.

My Major is organizational leadership a Bachelors of applied science to my future

teaching job. Organizational leadership helps develop vital skills for todays workplace by

receiving credits for stuff you already know which helps move faster through curriculum. this

degreed focus on skills that will help prepare me for that position of leadership business, in my

case its educational organizations. Organizational leadership will open new doors of

opportunities, the organizational leadership is much ore than being a leader is shows that

working together things can get done. Ive learned that being the leader has a lot of responsibility

it is important for a leader to lead with emotional, intelligence, use power wisely and act

ethically. Its important to have strong relations with others in our teams so we all can be leaders.

My Professional skills are great communication skills with children and adults.

Commutation is very important to have; it is the key to success. Behavior management skills

means to be a great leader that has great leadership skills that show acts of fairness, compassion

and caring, integrity, honor and best of responsibility. Great leadership skills are always having

integrity, always do the right thing. I also am skilled in: Data Driven Excel Microsoft, word

Microsoft, PowerPoint, graphing and computer skills.Education is a set of skills and tools that

students will use in everyday classroom activities and real-world situations. My goal as teacher is

show my students learning should be hands on work and relative to the child.

My Work experience as a volunteer at AmeriCorps afterschool program attending the

students for three hours every day for a whole year helping all students from ages of five through

twelve lead me to choose being a student volunteer was so much fun, the children were full of

energy to do the activities that I had planned for them. To managed and monitor afterschool

program of the children in the classroom different ages all through elementary. Provided

individual instruction to students requiring additional help lessons. Help student in the

afterschool program with their homework provided by the teacher, once completed I assigned

them learning fun games. I supported teachers administrators and paraprofessionals in creating

successful learning environment. Worked closely with classroom teacher to create unique

successful instructional lessons This gave me a great perspective in my life to choose to become

a teacher and leader of tomorrow.

Conclusion

I believe that leadership comes naturally and can get stronger over time, A great leader is

someone that steps out of way to let others lead and learn. My role as a teacher in society is the

everyday situations these roles can change with time. I want to be a teacher because not just to

make a difference but to inspire students I want to lead the way to a good path in their futures.

Ive been inspired by my teachers they make their job seem so easy and peaceful but I know that

it takes time and effort to be an amazing teacher or leader. I will be open minded and have a

welcoming and safe environment for my students to feel safe. I want my students to love

learning and the excitement of achievement, and success. I will inspire them to believe in

themselves because its important to accept yourself as a person and be proud of where they

come from. Children are the future I honestly believe they are the doctors of tomorrow I will see

the light in every single student I will let them shine. All children have the ability and the right

to learn. Education is not peroration for life, education is life itself, said by John Dewey.
