HEALTH CARE COMMUNICATION
Health care communication may be define as a communication or transferring or giving or distribution of

knowledge about Health Awareness to the people of community I can be either inside the hospital or out of the

Hospital with in a specific geographical boundary.

Health communication is the study and practice of communicating promotional health information, such as

in public health campaigns, health education, and between doctor and patient.

If it is inside the Hospital then Hospital itself plays role as a medium or channel through which the information

can be forward toward the patient or their attenders to the precaution, prevention and promotion.

The Aim of HEALTH CARE UNIT is to PREVENTION OF THE DISEASE & PROMOTION OF THE

HEALTH.

But if it comes out of the hospital then communication is based on the campaigns.

It can be done at targeted places like

Govt. organization, non govt. organization, villages, slums area etc.

LEVELS OF PREVENTION
There are three level of prevention where only health promotion can target

CONCLUSION
It was a great opportunity for me to do internship at M.S.RAMAIAH MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, Bangalore.
Which came out as a very experiencing internship of my career? During the course of internship, I was given an
opportunity to interact with the different members of the health care team who helped me out in understanding
the different aspects of Health care communication especially in terms of campaign and promotion of health.
They also briefed me about the international communication which they are having with gulf countries and
Middle East countries.
According to them, the hospital is having very nice relationship with the Anti-retroviral center which gives data
and requirement of health promotion in the field of HIV, AIDS this hospital.
Thus, this was my first internship program and I believe it was an experiencing and a memorable one, since I
learned a lot of practical aspects of communication and Public relation department. I also believe that this will
definitely have a positive impact on my career.
