Dear Sir/ Madam,

Please consider my expression of interest for the role of Manager, Corporate Strategy at
Flipkart.

I am a chemical engineer from IIT-BHU, Varanasi with approximately six years of work
experience. Before joining ISB, I worked with ZS Associates, a specialized sales and
marketing consulting firm. My work involved combination of statistics and business acumen
e.g. market tracking, opportunity assessment for launching new products, market forecasting
and devising marketing strategy. I have worked with brand and strategy stakeholders across
geographies (e.g. Key European markets, US, Brazil, Japan, and India) and in different
industries including healthcare, hi-tech and cosmetics. I led the Customer Insights team at ZS
New Delhi and London offices and developed expertise in data analytics (SPSS), qualitative and
quantitative market research. Prior to ZS, I provided IP strategy support to clients via projects
such as competitive intelligence and benchmarking.

At ISB, I am leading the industry engagements as Vice President of Marketing Club, by


facilitating knowledge sharing and live project opportunities during this exciting phase of e-
commerce and digital transformation. I am also an active participant in retail club, and have
learnt substantially from industry treks and classroom courses e.g. consumer behavior, social
media marketing and competitive strategy (scored A grade in all marketing courses till date).

To say that Flipkart is the poster boy of Indian e-commerce would be an understatement. As
Punit Soni, said at the ISB Leadership Summit last month, Flipkart is leading the internet
revolution in India. With Indias most downloaded App and 10+ million daily page visits, it is
beyond the role of a mere marketplace. I am willing to accompany this exciting journey with
Flipkart, in this multi-faceted role of corporate strategist.

I have successfully experienced both the technical and commercial sides of business and
worked on variety of strategic aspects such as building KPIs, managing bad PR, market entry
assessment and planning, and international expansion. I bring a combination of analytical
skills (SPSS, Confirmit etc.) and qualitative abilities (interviews using projective techniques,
online forums etc.) which are critical to this strategic role. Working at international locations, I
have led multi-cultural teams and simultaneously managed different stakeholders including
clients, programmers, market research vendors and consumers. I have also worked on critical
internal assignments such as formulating talent development and retention strategies.
