NEW GENERAL MANAGER HIRED

FOR PENTICTON VENUES
Penticton, BC: Global Spectrum, in conjunction with the City of Penticton, announced today the
appointment of Dean Clarke to the position of General Manager of the Global Spectrum-managed
campus of sports, entertainment and convention venues in Penticton. He will commence his new
position on Monday, September 20.

In his new role, Clarke, a 15-year veteran of the public assembly venue management industry,
will oversee the day-to-day operation of the 60,000-sq. ft. Penticton Trade & Convention Centre;
the South Okanagan Events Centre, a 5,000 seat multi-purpose arena and home to the Penticton
Vees; Memorial Arena; and the Okanagan Hockey School Training Centre, home to the
Okanagan Hockey School and Penticton Lakers.

This extensive campus is situated in the friendly Okanagan Valley. Translated from the language
of the Okanagan First Nations to mean “a place to live forever,” Penticton maintains its small town
charm amid its stunning mountain landscape in the heart of British Columbia’s wine country.

“Dean is a terrific leader who brings with him many new and exciting opportunities for the SOEC
and for the entire Penticton region," said Global Spectrum Chief Operating Officer John Page.

Clarke joins Global Spectrum after more than a decade in the employ of RG Properties, in recent
years in the capacity of General Manager of Prospera Place, the 6,500 seat sports and
entertainment venue in Kelowna, BC. After attending Carleton University, Dean began his career
as the Operations Supervisor at the Corel Centre in Ottawa in 1995 before moving on to Maple
Leaf Gardens and the Air Canada Centre in Toronto as Manager of Facility Services. Dean then
moved to the Okanagan region in 1999 to assume the role of Director of Operations of Kelowna’s
Prospera Place, as well as the 7,000 seat Save on Foods Memorial Centre located in Victoria,
BC. Dean completed further training in his field in 2003 from the International Association of
Assembly Managers’ (IAAM) Public Assembly Facility Management School at Oglebay.

“It has been an exciting process to work with Global Spectrum in the selection of our campus’
new General Manager. These are more than just buildings, they represent a bright part of
Penticton’s future. We know Dean has the experience and enthusiasm for the job. We are looking
forward to working with Dean and Global Spectrum to make these facilities very successful.
Penticton City Council and I wish Dean a successful journey in his new role!” said Mayor Dan
Ashton on Clarke’s new appointment.

Dean and his family will soon be calling Penticton their new home.
