Mission Statement
To represent, collaborate, and voice ideas, interests, and concerns of the teaching profession with
the support of peers, mentors, and teachers.
Article I- Purpose
Section 1. The purpose of the Educators @ASUYuma shall be to:
A. Encourage an interest in the teaching profession through networking of the community,
schools, teachers, and peers.
B. Create opportunities to develop leadership skills and demonstrate them through club
activities and events.
C. Develop professional and academic growth through the support of peers, teachers, and
mentors.
Article II- Membership
Statement of non-discrimination: This organization shall not discriminate on the basis of race,
color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or gender
identity in any of its policies, procedures, and practices. This policy will include, but is not
limited to recruiting, membership, organization activities, or opportunity to hold office.
Statement of compliance: This organization shall comply with all University and campus policies
and regulations, in addition to all local, state, and federal laws.
Section 1. General Student Eligibility
A. Each member of the Educators @ASUYuma must be enrolled at Arizona State
University and is open to all students.
B. No member is financially charged to attend or participate in club activities.
Section 2. Candidates can only be elected to offices if the receive a majority vote
of member present for the elections.
Section 3. A member must be present at the elections meeting to run for office.
Section 4. A member must be present at the election meeting to vote for officers.
Section 5. Officers elected will complete a two-year term (Junior and Senior
years).
Article VI- Financial
Section 1- Financial responsibilities
A. All expenses must be approved by the majority of the club (includes both ongoing
cohorts members). In the case of an emergency, the Advisor can make a decision.
B. The academic advisor is in charge of the P-card (if a P-card is acquired) and can use
it for club approved items. Officers can ask the advisor to make a charge off of the
P-card.
C. Only 80% of funds can be taken out as 20% of funds is reserved for upcoming year.
D. The Treasurer and President will be in charge of all finances not taken care of by
the academic advisor.
E. Anything purchased that needs to be reimbursed needs to be approved by majority
of the club before the time of the purchase. Receipts need to be turned into the
Treasurer for reimbursement.
F. The Educators @ ASUYuma is a non-profit group.
