Indian conditions:

It was early October, the signs of the winter can be found in the early morning chilly winds.
Pappu, a 28 year old lower middle class common man usually found in abundance all across
this region just woke up from his bed. Sorry it was not a bed, its a thick blanket spread on
the cement floor of the one room terraced house which he rented for Rs. 5000 per month.

Usually he gets up with a sound of his house owner telling (yelling) him to stock the water
around 7 am in the morning daily. The owner switches on the motor once a day between 7
and 8 in the morning and thats when youre expected stock the water needed for the entire
day. If you miss the deadline youll be deprived of the water for the next 24 hours.

Pappu woke up to the sound of his landlord and started piling all the utensils he has to stock
the water. After he finished doing his daily routine, he started to fresh up to get ready to go
to work. He works as an audit assistant in a small CA firm. Like most he also

Hes an introvert more of a wallflower when it comes to socializing

Has some family problems and with the amount of salary hes earning its difficult to live in a
city like ????? forget about supporting his family, lives in remote part of the country.

Hes is the only hope to his family for financial support and after struggling keep his
spending in control he could merely send about 25% of his net salary

A middle aged man with a generation crisis; having been ditched by girlfriend and not been
able to impress any. Perceived to be a dud in the office and involved in a lot of betting.

about dying while on the influence of alcohol is easy) and with the help of his pharmacist
friend manage to get a bottle of sleeping pills.

He takes the pills one by one after finishing half of the vodka bottle first. He reads in a book
written by Paulo Coelho where the lead character takes in a similar fashion just to make
sure she really wants to die.

After finishing both the bottle of alcohol and the bottle of sleeping pills hes unconscious
and dies.
His soul leaves his body and reaches the other world (for convenience well call it as other
side). At first he dont know whats happening but soon realises that hes dead. Hes
sucked into a huge hollow pipe which is the collecting point for all the souls from a
particular country. Quarantine..

On reaching the other side hes greeted by people and all sorts of other creatures
everywhere. As soon he reaches a place called>>>>> hes greeted by a Chinese guy
welcoming him to that part of the Universe and he is given a wrist band (or permanent
stamp on his fore arm which hurts as its done with some kind of a laser) with a number
HMIAPH101,234,507,125 on it.

He gets the shock of his life by looking at the number of humans and other forms of life
waiting (both in different zones properly bifurcated and protected though). Soon after
getting his band hes taken into a chamber which is titled DEC22210322:00 indicating the
date and hour. The doors are closed at exactly 23:00 hours and the hall is filled with around
6,500 people, people who belongs to all walks of life with nationalities representing across
the globe.

Suddenly at the far end he sees a lady dressed in white making an announcement and
surprisingly that announcement is heard by each and every person in their mother tongue.

First she starts explaining the barcode which written on the band and now I understood
what exactly that means:

And the number stands for the sequence of my death since human kind was .

By looking at that number I got a shock of my life it reads as 101 billion and if I add the
humans on the earth living of around 7 billion the number is staggering 108 billion.

She further tells us that each chamber holds the people died in that particular hour and
once the orientation is over the next batch will be housed in that same chamber.

Usually the orientation takes around 2 hours explaining them the options available and later
on the facilities tour (most of them are videos)
The options

- Reincarnation
- Permanent settlement (either to the heaven or hell depending on the qualification
criteria, which will be decided when the time comes)

qualify youll get to choose which species you can get in (Insects, Birds, Fish and other water

He gets to know that at least top 1 % of the other species gets a chance to born as humans.

He sees a lot of coaching institutions/colleges guaranteeing to be top 10% in the

reincarnation test (the eligibility criteria to be born as humans again)

Permanent settlement is tougher that getting a US citizenship/passport. He realises theres

a waiting period of approx. 20 years right now to reach the point of interview. Where if you
fail youll need to spend around 5-10 years in hell. After 5 years in hell youll be considered
for heaven based on track record.

He gets to know the fastest promotion between hell and heave was 7 years and 8 months
20 days.

In the first 48 hours one needs to choose his option and accordingly hell be allocated
accommodation and other facilities.

Our hero goes to the check point after 48 hours and while the assistant there tells him what
he wants to choose between reincarnation or permanent settlement and to his surprise
the 3rd option appears.

That is going back to his body and complete his original life term of 72 years; since he died
on a Friday night and no one notices his death and it was winter the body was intact.

He gets the 3rd option also which is usually not the case where most of the cases as he is
young and there is no damage to his vital organs.

He chooses the 3rd option and go back to his body on Sunday evening.

As usual he wakes to up the routine shouting/sounds and feels really fresh.

Thinks about what he witnessed after his death and tries to search for the tablets bottle and
could not find it.
After a lot of deliberation he thinks it is actually the effect of Vodka/stress that he could
sleep for 48 hours continuously and what he thought happened after his death is actually a
dream.

But, that dream will have a deep impact on him on how he faces his life and his attitude
changes completely to a very positive and energetic person.

In the end well see:

He looks at his forearm and visualises the barcode appearing like an illusion; it appears
couple of times like a flash and disappears completely.

And the squirrel is lying senseless on a tree top with the sleeping pill bottle on its side with a
half broken pill in it.
