Student Objective: Students will be able to identify the cultural, physical, and climate features of Mexico.

Mexico Worksheet

Lesson Activities:
1. Write on board the following:
a. 10 Minute Response: Please message Veronica or write on paper the answers to the following
questions.
i. List 10 facts/opinions about Mexico.
ii. List 5 items you would like to learn about Mexico.
iii. Describe 1 class project that you would love Veronica to try. (Veronica will be going
through these and selecting 1-2 from all the responses to try in the classroom).

2. A+ or Chapter on Mexico:
a. Veronica has assigned students 10 lessons on A+ that must be finished prior to her return.
However there are multiple students who struggle with A+ so Veronica has printed off a copy of
the same content on paper. For A+ lessons they must write a minimum of 3 pages notes for
each section. Students must choose which one they want to do. Then they need to follow
through.
i. If A+ is not working then all must do the chapter.
ii. If a student has already finished the assignments then they can quietly work on other
assignments, however: if they are a disciplinary issue the staff can assigned the chapter
also.
iii. Note that I will be giving extra credit if students do both the A+ and the chapter
information.
b. Chapter Instructions: Students will write a minimum of 1 page notes for each section. They will
then answer all questions that have been starred by veronica. They must answer in complete
sentences.

3. Mexico Worksheet:
a. About 15-20 minutes before the class is finished pass out this worksheet to all students. They
are to use their notes from the chapter readings or A+ to answer the questions about Mexico.
They need to work on this alone not in partners. Please be mindful of cheating. Turn in all work
into my boxes.

Student Alternatives
D Group: Ashley and Stella need to do item 3 on the activities and work on their independent studies.
C Group: Kristin should be finishing computer tech. If a problem then have her do the assignment.
A Group: All should work
B Group: Angie should work on therapy; Emily on College if not then they can do the assignments.

iii. List 5 items you would like to learn about Central America.
iv. Describe 1 class project that you would love Veronica to try. (Veronica will be going

a. Veronica has assigned students 10 lessons on A+ that must be finished prior to her return.

Student Objective: Using the notes from the Mexico and Latin American Chapters students will compare and
contrast the differences and similarities between the two based on Climate, Physical Landforms, and Culture.

Lesson Activities:
1. Write on board the following:
a. 10 Minute Response: Please message Veronica or write on paper the answers to the following
questions.
i. List 20 the physical features of Central America and Mexico
ii. List 20 of the cultural features of Central America and Mexico
iii. List 20 of the climate features of Central America and Mexico

2. Students will complete a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting between Central America and
Mexico.
a. Climates
b. Physical Features
c. Cultures (includes history differences)

3. Pre-Quiz: The purpose of a pre-quiz is to give me an idea about what the students know before they
have learned the material. Please instruct them to do their best. It is a chance to show me what they
already learned so I dont have to re-teach them the boring stuff. (Note printed on the back of one of
the Venn Diagrams)

4. A+ or Chapter Follow-up
a. Students can have whatever remaining time to finish A+ or the Chapters after they have done
all other required items.
