Strengths of the lesson:

Behaviour management is very good. There are 24 students in this class and Zainab is in
control. Zainab has her expectations and is making sure the students work to meet those
expectations EG sit down, put your feet on the ground
Praise is well measured
Use of English is very good, clear and well thought out
Getting the students up to the board able to use Arabic (writing)

Areas for development:

Behaviour management While her management of behavior is, in general very good,
Zainab needs to develop her range of strategies for working with students with learning
needs.

Self- Reflection. Zainab needs to think about her lessons and really think about her strengths
and weaknesses. How can she build on her strengths and change her weaknesses.

Feedback for AR
Zainab introduced coloured sticks to control the use of the L1 in the L2 classroom. If students
needed to ask a question then they used one of the coloured sticks.
Students seemed to understand this and I could see they were starting to monitor when
they needed to use the L1 with Zainab.
Zainab also asked students to write a word in Arabic if they didnt understand the English
word. Once Zainab ascertained that they had grasped the concept she then gave them the
English term. This was really good.
Zainab also tracked the number of sticks used by each student for each lesson she had with
them. This really seems to help you understand more about what you were doing.
A = Exceptional, B = Very Good, c = Satisfactory, D = Marginal and F = Unsatisfactory
