tradition every year, a large congregation of
hundreds chefs marched together to show
their solidarity and togetherness with the
chefs nationally and internationally.

Ahmad, the COO of COTHM in his welcome

T he TDCP plays vital role tourism promotion in Punjab and Pakistan. The
department, according to the present Government vision, provides all the
possible facilities to the tourists at their resorts and other tourists sites, said
Minister for Education, Rana Mashhood in a Seminar arranged by TDCP on the
occasion of Celebrations of World Tourism Day 2017 at Alhamra Art Centre,
Lahore.

Minister added that tourism is one of the leading industry of the world and the
economy of the many countries depend on this industry. Minister Said, God has
given everything to the Pakistan and if we said, the Pakistan is the heaven of tourists,
it is not wrong. We have Mountains Range, Green Valleys, Deep Ocean, Vast
Deserts, Rivers, Lakes, Historical Monuments, Ancient History, Rich Culture and
many other things which attract the domestic and international tourists.

The TDCP recently upgraded its Patriata Chairlift & Cable Car for the safety and
facility of the tourists. Also TDCP starts international level 1st Lahore Sightseeing
Double Decker Bus Service which got the popularity in the short time among the
tourists and on the public demand the department increased the number of buses.
The environment friendly eco-tourism tourist resort at Soon Sakeasar also ready for
opening which provides scenic beauty and attractive lakes i.e. Uchhali, Khabeki
with boating facilities for the tourists. These lakes are the destinations of migratory
birds in the winter specially the Flamingos. TDCP Cholistan Desert Rally
Pakistan`s Biggest Motor Sports Event, got the huge popularity among the
national and international tourists and the permanent feature of the TDCP events.

The World Tourism Day celebrated every year on 27th September globally. The

in a row as part of The
Economist Intelligence
Units Global
Liveability Report for
2017.

T he report gives cities around


the world a livability scores
based on 30 different factors
that fall into ve broad categories:
stability, healthcare, culture and
environment, education, and
infrastructure.

A total of 140 cities are surveyed, with


scores being weighted on a scale of 1 to
100, with one being considered
intolerable living conditions while 100
is considered the ideal.

Each of the broad categories has


various subsections to it. For stability,
factors include the prevalence of petty
and violent crimes and threats of
terror, while culture and environment
is weighed on factors that include
average temperatures, levels of
censorship, and social or religious
restrictions.

Toronto came in at fourth place this year, with an overall rating of 97.2.
Its healthcare, stability, and education scores were all perfect 100's.

5. Calgary, Canada

Only 0.1 percentage points separated Vienna from this year's top city.
Vienna's overall score was 97.4.

This Austrian city has a stability score of 95, while its healthcare,

3. Vancouver, Canada Calgary was one of three Canadian cities that made it to the top 10,
