MODULE 8 Testing, DFMEA, Delivery

1. In the earlier modules we asked you to generate concepts and select ideas. Pick one of those
ideas perform a Design for Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA). Download the
DFMEA template from Canvas (DFMEA.docx) and complete the chart for four potential
failure modes. Give each failure mode a rating for Occurrence, Detection and Severity and
an RPN number.

2. Download the document Test_Plan_Template_Example.docx. This is an example of a

template for a test plan but this example is too complicated for students. It was modeled after
industry documents. Edit the document to make it easy for your own students to use as a
model when planning for their own tests for their own designs. Pick one of the categories
that are simply listed in the document and annotate it with a description or clarification of
what you would expect from the students for that category.
