Allana Goldsmith Group
Fresh from her standout performance at the 2017 Waiheke International Jazz Festival, and featuring
LIVE on the Radio New Zealand Jesse Mulligan show, Allana Goldsmith returns with her group to grace us
with new originals and old jazz standards. Allana is a jazz singer in the classic vein of singers such as Ella
Fitzgerald. She is the kind of artist one hears for the first time and is immediately captivated by. Ms
Goldsmith selects well-known and some lessor performed standards, and always stamp's her own mark

The De Sotos
Fuelled by a powerful blend of rock-infused country blues, The DeSotos combine rich harmonies with
reverberant guitar sounds, chunky bass runs and warm flourishes of Hammond organ. Alt Americana
Country, NZ style. 'Shadow of Love' Paul's new solo album recorded with The DeSotos was released in

Trudy Lile & Mojave


New Zealand born jazz flutist and vocalist Trudy Lile is well known to audiences around New Zealand
jazz festivals, and has been a regular feature to Coopers Creek audiences, performing with her band
Mojave who are considered some of New Zealands finest professional jazz musicians. The repertoire is a
fresh, sophisticated and energetic blend of great things jazz and latin with a warm infectious groove

Blue Jaffas
This widely experienced quartet plays cool rhythms that blend flavours of Soul and Jazz with a
sprinkling of the US South. The Jaffas are : Keith Prictorguitar & vocals, Rick Cotterdrums & vocals,
Greg ODonnellbass & vocals, Mal Smithkeyboards. Their song list is a mix of original tunes and Jaffa
versions of selected favourites, with the focus always being on the heartbeat of the music.

Maria OFlaherty & Ben Fernandez Quartet


A talented band of Auckland based musicians with their own unique style and vibrant
performances. Their repertoire stretches from lively renditions of Jazz standards, Latin influences,
French Chanson and funky grooves. A great line up of some of NZs best jazz musicians.

Blue Pearl
Jazz Fusion group Blue Pearl hits the sweet spot, blending the 'feel good' grooves and melodies of soul
with superbly executed improvisation. Old school classics, such as Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Al
Green get a fresh jazz perspective alongside brand new original tunes. The band features vocalist/conga
player Makareta Umbers, guitarist Nathan James, trumpet and keyboardist Matt Watson, bass player

John Leigh Calder Band


John started his musical career playing with school friend, Billy Taitoko (Billy T James). He subsequently
travelled throughout the country with other national musical identities, before moving overseas. He has
worked extensively throughout Europe and Australasia and was featured on the ABC's broadcast of the
opening of the Soup Plus in Sydney where he was a regular guest. Currently, he is spreading his work
between London, Sydney and New Zealand, where his vocals and double bass are joined by Matt Watson
(Piano), Matt Hennessy (Drums) & Roger Mannins (Tenor Saxophone).
