1 About Leica FramePro Leica FramePro 7

1 About Leica FramePro

Leica Geosystems Leica FramePro is the designated software to download and post-
process image data acquired with the Leica RCD30 medium format camera.

Main Functions Leica FramePro is designed exclusively for data acquired with the Leica RCD30. Leica
FramePro software can be used to perform the following functions:

Download of image data and sessions acquired with the Leica RCD30 system
Quality Control of image data before, during and after data download
Geometric image corrections
Radiometric image correction
Co-registration of RGB and NIR data in various band combinations
Output can be tailored for different workflows and applications (photogrammetry/ortho-
photo creation, remote sensing applications)

What Leica FramePro Leica FramePro is not a photogrammetric workflow and can not perform APM, Aerial
can not do.... Triangulation or generate Orthophotos. Leica FramePro generates output image data
that can be used in photogrammetric workflows such as ERDAS LPS, Intergraph Image
Station and other third party products.
Leica FramePro can not perform image classification or create image ratios for remote
sensing applications. Leica FramePro generates co-registered multispectral output
images that can be used for remote sensing processing and image classification using
software suites such as ERDAS Imagine and other third party products.
Leica FramePro does not perform automatic misalignment estimation or GNSS/IMU post
processing. If the Leica RCD30 is used as standalone system or with a Leica ALS system,
these tasks can be performed using Leica FramePro and Leica IPAS CO+. If the Leica
RCD30 is used with a 3rd party GNSS/IMU system, automatic misalignment estimation
or GNSS/IMU post processing software should be provided by the 3rd party manufac-
turer.

Licensing Leica FramePro software for Leica RCD30 is not licensed. Once purchased, customers
can install Leica FramePro on all computers throughout the production workflow and in
the field to ensure smooth quality control and post-processing.

The Exposure Value (EV) = = N
---- with
t
N is the aperture (f-number)
t is the exposure time (shutter speed) in seconds
Applies a correction factor to the selected images in the job queue to equalize the Expo-
sure Value (EV) for all images processed. Use of the Exposure Value balances the expo-
sure differences between images.
average: Calculated average EV value is used to calculate the correction factor
maximum: Calculated minimum EV value is used to calculate the correction factor
minimum: Calculated maximum EV value is used to calculate the correction factor

Basic Color Settings:

Offset
With a positive offset shifts the grey values of the image bands to the right in the histo-
gram (lighter). With negative offset shifts the grey values to the left (darker)
Gamma
Applies a gamma curve correction to the grey values of the image bands. The gamma
stretch is more effective after stretching the histogram with the Gain or Auto Scale
settings.
Gain
Gain applies a linear stretch to the grey values of all the image bands (changes contrast)
Histogram Stretch %
Calculates the minimum and maximum percentile of the image histogram and stretch the
histogram between these 2 given values to the full extent of the image bands

File Format Settings:

Bits per Bands
Select 8 or 16 bit image depth for the output image
