TO DO LIST for ERASMUS students arriving in September 1014

WELCOME TO HEIDELBERG

Tuesday, 2 September

9 a.m. 6 p.m. Arrival


Arrival Area in the Triplex Mensa, University Square or
- for those with rooms in a student hall: Sign your housing contract, pick up your room keys, pay the first
months rent and deposit.
- for those with rooms in a SRH: Sign your housing contract, pick up your room keys, pay the first months
rent at the SRH Campus, Wieblingen.

Wednesday, 3 September

10 a.m. Placement test for the preparatory language course.


Lecture hall of the Studienkolleg, Im Neuenheimer Feld 684

2 4 p.m. ERASMUS info session in lecture hall (Hrsaal) 10, New University Building (on University Square)
Information on administrative issues (preparation of enrolment with the University, registration with the city,
health insurance, residence permit).

Please bring your health insurance documentation if you wish to apply for an exemption from German student
health insurance.

Thursday, 4 September

Beginning of language classes at the Max-Weber-Haus; time will be announced at the placement test

1.30 4.30 p.m. Enrolment with the University/Registration with the City in room no. 33, International Relations
Office (Seminarstr. 2)

- 3.00 4.30 p.m. last names starting with letters L Z

You need to bring the following documents:


Valid personal ID or passport
Letter of Admission
Exemption from German health insurance
Students of non-EU countries: valid study visa
Housing contract

Friday, 5 September

9 a.m. 12.30 p.m. Language course

The Incoming Office will be open on this day from 10 12 oclock.

Time to ask questions, do the shopping and get to know the city.

During the first few days of your stay:

1. Open a bank account dont forget to pass on your bank information to your landlord or set up a monthly
transfer to pay the rent

2. pay the social service fee ( 69.80): every student at this university pays this fee in order to support social
facilities of the Students Union, e.g. internet cafs & counselling

3. Print your Certificates of Enrolment (Studienbescheinigungen) via the LSF

4. Students of non-EU countries: apply for a residence permit (visa)

5. optional: buy a semester ticket (after enrolment). With this ticket, you can use public transport within
Heidelberg and the surrounding area during the semester. It costs 150.
