Welding Boards:

Students Description: During this assignment you will be required to complete a welding board as your
first project in the shop. You MUST complete this project before starting to create your personal project
for the year. What is a welding board? A welding board consists of five different types of joints given to
you by the teacher mounted on the peg board. You must use the SMAW welder to weld your joints
together. The following must be included on your peg board.

Butt Joint

YOU will be welding each of these joints with material provided to you by the teacher. If I find out you
have used someone elses welds you will be receiving a zero for this project. You will connect your welds
to the board using zip ties. Make sure you put your name on this project! You may redo your welds as
many times as you see fit. Make this a high-quality project as this will determine some projects that you
will get to build/complete for the year. There is a rubric attached to see how you will be graded on this
assignment! Have fun and weld to the best of your ability.
